That's not true. That pitch being called a strike didn't cause Bo Bichette to get picked off of first. Bo Bichette not paying attention and turning his back to the play caused that. The batter ended up walking in the same AB, so if Bo hadn't gotten himself out then the ball/strike call wouldn't have mattered one bit.

And the umpire should have been much more goal on his call. He just kind of stood there.

I don’t have a dog in this race - if anything I’m pulling for the Dodgers because my son has been a fan since he’s been six - but it was objectively a terrible call that ultimately affected the final outcome.

Regardless, the only thing that cost the Blue Jays an out in that inning was Bichette turning around, facing the outfield, and wandering off the base.

You are correct - I did get the innings mixed up. I still think he still would have likely scored off Kirk’s hit that inning.
