Haven't we reached the point where we are ready to admit that it won't really be THAT hard to be better than Adrian?

I mean, really? Hasn't Adrian given us ample evidence over the course of his career at Nebraska that he wasn't that good and the next guy is just gonna have to be a little above average to look like a god?

What really is it gonna take for CT to convince us?

One solid 4th quarter?
One game winning drive?
3 games without a fumble? 2?
One win over a ranked team?
6-6 record as a starter?

I mean the bar is soooooo low at this point.

Are people still pretending he was good?

I would argue he was really good at the area he was good, but the areas he was bad at make it tough to win.

He was a great runner and a really good deep ball passer.

He was awful when the game was on the line.
Having the yips and no ability to hand the ball off and trust our Oline to consistently get us 4 yards killed us. How many times did we watch any RB run straight into a pile for 1 or 2 yards on first or second down. Get Adrian into 3rd and long and he’s boom or bust….mostly bust.

Yup... Our staff really failed him.

The most talent he ever had around him was his freshmen year. Soph/junior year he had some of the worst WRs. Senior year the OL went to complete shit.

One game WINNING drive is all it will take for me.

Looking back at Martinez @ Nebraska..

Illinois 2019 a game winning TD with 8 minutes to go is the closest thing Martinez has to a "game winning drive".

Vedral led the drive for the game winning FG as time expired vs Northwestern in 2019

The next closest is a game winning TD drive with 10 minutes left in the game vs Rutgers in 2021 and when Nebraska kicked 3 field goals in 2018 to beat Michigan St 9-6.

Zero clutch genes.

Plenty of talent, zero killer instinct.

More like the OL went to complete shit his sophomore year (when the last of Bo's OL recruits left). And every time since then that it looked like they were ready to turn a corner, it all fell apart again.

Also, the only good RB he had playing with him was Ozigbo.
