Micah Mazzccua is planning a Tuesday decision, but there’s still not quite a consensus as to what might happen with the former Baylor offensive lineman.
Mazzccua is deciding between Auburn, Florida and Nebraska, having recently taken visits with all of them over the past weekend.
The latest information Husker247 has been able to wrangle points to it being down to Florida and Nebraska, with Auburn on the outside. There are no 247Sports Transfer Portal Crystal Ball predictions at this time.
Nebraska makes a lot of sense for Mazzccua with his connections to Baylor, where
Matt Rhule and members of the staff used to be, before leaving prior to the offensive lineman’s arrival in 2020. Mazzccua is also from Philadelphia — though he attended high school in Baltimore — and Nebraska’s connections in the city are strong, which helped pull in former A&M defender
Elijah Jeudy.
Mazzccua is a big upgrade along the offensive line for whichever team lands him as the talented interior lineman had a big 2022 for Baylor. Pro Football Focus gives him a run-blocking grade of 78.5 last season, which would have rated ninth among Power Five guards. His overall grade of 74.9 for last season was also quite impressive, with a pass blocking grade of 66.9.
Mazzccua still has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
