Lateef vs. Minchey

This poll is interesting... If Lateef is as bad as what this is representing, Nebraska coaches messed up royally not going after a sure starter to guarantee the job to, instead of going after someone that would keep Lateef here he could battle with.

Kenny Minchey isn't transferring to Nebraska of all places without a nice check and a handshake guarantee he's starting. JMO
Who would you recommend?
I’m not as down on Lateef as others, I just don’t think he’ll be ready next year and I think the coaches agree.
We are looking at not making a bowl next year.

I think he'll be a very good QB actually. Remember when he signed he fully expected to sit 2 yrs here behind Dylan.
I was on board after the UCLA game but he looks like he's 1 more season away. I hope we can keep him. Minchey has had 3 full yrs in the ND system. That's a lot different than TJ who has had 1 yr in college.
That’s where I’m at. Not ready to give up on him. I think he needs a good year of development
Nice check yes, no fucking shot that he got a guarantee he's starting. Dude didn't even play for Notre Dame. How would our staff come to that conclusion? This ain't Spindler coming after starting games.
I'll just tell you that I was told in November the staff needs to figure out if they are going to bring someone in to compete with Lateef for the starting job and match his paycheck to keep him here, or decide if they were going to guarantee the starting job and lose Lateef. Lateef is still here. That is not "my opinion".

I will tell you that if they guarantee the starting job to a dude with 26 pass attempts this year and got beat out by a guy that was ranked lower than Raiola who we think isn’t good enough they are the dumbest people on the planet and I’m completely out on them.

I didn’t follow TJ’s recruitment. Are all of the offers listed on 247 actually commutable? His two visits where an unofficial to CU and then an official to NU and that’s it.
Below is Biggins review of him from 2024. I must be missing something bc I just do not see any of this so far. I could see it in the MD QB this year but I guess he was a higher ranked QB prospect. Not dogging him curious what people who understand QB potential see.

Lateef is one of the nation’s top signal callers and has been on our radar since he was just a freshman. He has a really nice all around game to him and brings a lot to an offense. He’s a pocket passer with dual-threat ability. He can sit back and make every throw you want from the pocket and has excellent mobility as well. He can make defenders miss and does a nice job extending plays and making something happen outside the pocket. You can run zone read with him and his ability to be an athlete from the pocket adds a lot of dimensions to an offense. As a thrower, Lateef has made some nice strides over the last year. We actually thought he had the best day of any quarterback at the Elite 11 Regional Camp in Los Angels back in March. His arm was live, his release looked tighter and he was accurate to all three levels of the field. He’s a tough kid and a gamer who we’ve seen take some big shots but never flinch in the pocket. He has also shown a clutch gene and has multiple 4th quarter game winning drives on his resume. His game is trending in the right direction and he should make another nice jump when he gets to college.

True but he played essentially 4 full games, so not like it was all cleanup duty. Most of his playing time against most of our toughest opponents in USC, Cockeye, and PSU
At the end of day we all know you don't like the staff. Tony White was your buddy and we see how that turned out for his new school. You're very condescending and act like you're the smartest person in the room. You talk a lot about what you know but if you know so much more than us spill it!
