At the beginning of July, Brix was very transparent about his process. He was ready to put the travel and the stresses behind him, get back to FAA, show some animals, and enjoy his summer. Who can blame him?

I think that things changed for Brix once Notre Dame offered. He went from being a regional recruit to being a national guy. The phone has been ringing constantly for him ever since.

If there is a prospect that Kansas State is chasing harder than Boganowski, and that is saying something, it is that of four-star offensive lineman and Cockeye native Grant Brix. And though he’s from the Hawkeye State, being in ear shot of the Nebraska campus is certainly playing a role.

Despite that advantage for the Huskers, Manhattan is not much further from his home in Logan. We continue to emphasize that because proximity is having more and more influence and has become a vital component to his process.​

What’s interesting, as we have defined in recent weeks, is that it is considered a three-team battle between K-State, Nebraska and Oklahoma. And while confidence has not dissipated on the Wildcats’ part, the Huskers and Sooners believe they are tussling amongst themselves for Brix’s services.

However, and we have shared it before, KSO has been told multiple times that there is a belief from others that Oklahoma is running third. Unlike what might happen with Boganowski, could Brix still announce in July? Time will tell

Typically once mid-July hits, college football recruiting slows down a bit before the NCAA dead period lifts at the end of the month. But that's not the case this week, as a large handful of four-star prospects are set to announce their commitments on the 247Sports YouTube channel.

Plenty of top Power Five programs are in the mix for the six players who will commit live on air. All are coveted prospects, and here's what you need to know about them before they announce this week.

4-star OL Preston Taumua — Saturday, July 15, 2 p.m. ET

Taumua is a talented O-lineman who is looking at programs from across the country. The Hawaii product took official visits to Arizona, Auburn, Nebraska and Oregon last month ahead of his decision.

Nebraska and new coach Matt Rhule hold the lead on the 247Sports Crystal Ball as of Monday afternoon with one prediction in their favor. Listed at 6-foot-4, 315 pounds, Taumua projects as an interior lineman at the next level rather than a tackle.

Preseason Junior of the Year
OL/DL – Tyson Terry | Omaha North | 6’3/285
– Terry exploded off tape as a freshman and followed it up with another outstanding campaign as a sophomore. Terry committed to Nebraska over the summer after earning First Team All-State honors with 54 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and four sacks. Terry also provided much needed help on the offensive line on an offense that averaged 366.5 yards per game. In the offseason, Terry is the two-time defending heavyweight wrestling champion in Class A. Expect a large dose of physicality when going up against Terry.

Offense
QB – Braylon Anderson | Oakland-Craig | 6’3/195 – Anderson emerged as Oakland-Craig threw the football more in 2022 as it continues to transform its offense. Anderson threw for 2,076 yards and 16 touchdowns while completing over 60 percent of his passes, adding four rushing scores.
QB – Sebastian Circo | Omaha North | 6’0/170 – Circo has held Power 5 offers for quite awhile. After missing the first few games in 2022 due to an injury, Circo won the starting job throwing for 1,307 yards and 14 touchdowns while leading the Vikings to the Class A state playoffs. Circo is capable of making big time throws and will be worth the price of admission.
FB – Conor Booth | Wahoo Neumann | 6’2/215 – After Nebraska’s inaugural Fullback Camp over the summer, Booth left with an offer. Both rushed for 964 yards and 13 touchdowns while averaging 13.4 yards per carry. Booth will be on what should be an improved Wahoo Neumann team with many great athletes. Booth has deceptive speed and is hard to bring down in one-on-one situations.
RB – Cash Buettenback | Lincoln Southeast | 6’0/195 – Backing up his brother and Nebraska baseball signee Max last season, Buettenback rushed for 328 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 69 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. With more reps this season, Buettenback could be in store for a huge 2023 campaign.
RB – Tony Palmer | South Sioux City | 5’10/190 – A high profile transfer before the season opened the door for Palmer. Palmer took advantage, rushing for 759 yards and 13 touchdowns. Palmer also helps out the Cardinals defensively, recording 43 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and an interception.
WR – Jackson Carpenter | Lincoln Southwest | 6’2/185 – Carpenter displayed big-play ability on a Class A quarterfinalist in 2022. Carpenter holds a FCS offer after catching 14 passes for 324 yards and four touchdown at an average of 23.1 yards per catch. Expect to see a lot more activity his way for the Silver Hawks in 2023.
WR – Chase Loftin | Elkhorn North | 6’5/200 – Loftin was part of Elkhorn North’s first playoff appearance in school history. Loftin caught 39 passes for 577 yards and five touchdowns. Over the summer, a sleuth of Power 5 offers came in for the projected tight end. Loftin’s subvarsity tape stood out prior to last season, which made his eventual development no surprise.
WR – Logan McGreer | Malcolm | 5’11/160 – In an explosive offense on a Class C-2 quarterfinalist, McGreer caught 23 passes for 692 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging a whopping 23.9 yards per catch. McGreer joins Dalton Amen as receivers for the Clippers capable of making big plays.
OL – Dawson Amick | Battle Creek | 6’4/250 – Amick stood out as a punishing run block on an offense that averaged 297.5 yards per game (221.9 rushing). On defense, Amick recorded 44 tackles and a sack.
OL – Griffin Goldman | Gretna | 6’2/250 – Part of Class A state runner-up in 2022, Goldman earned valuable experience and was part of a line that include his older brother Mason, who is now at Nebraska.
OL – Kalvin Janssen | Gretna | 6’4/285 – One of the top prospects in the class without an offer, Janssen was a key part of an offense averaged that 400.6 yards per game in 2022.
OL – Corbin Lemburg | Clarkson-Leigh | 6’4/300 – Lemburg earned first team Class D-1 All-State honors according to the World-Herald as a sophomore while paving the way for a pounding running game that averaged 302 yards per game en route to winning the Class D-1 state championship.
OL – Garin Maley | Papillion-La Vista | 6’6/260 – One of the most underrated Class of 2025 prospects in Nebraska, Maley moves extremely well and has all the tools to be a bona fide left tackle in the future. If Maley puts it all together, he could develop into a big-time recruit.
OL – Dane Newman | Lincoln Southeast | 6’3/270 – Lincoln Southeast’s grinding running game averaging 200.9 yards per game while playing with Nebraska signee Gunnar Gottula.
K/P- Colin Nehe | Lincoln East | 5’10/165 – Nehe was a consistent performer for the Spartans in 2002, converting on 3 of 4 field goals with a long of 30 yards, and connecting on 20 of his 22 PAT’s. Nehe also averaged 35.0 yards per punt.
ATH – Keynan Cotton | Omaha Westside | 5’10/185 – The speedy Cotton is a potential can’t miss prospect for Westside. Cotton holds a Power 5 offer after his 129 receiving yards on offense and two interceptions on defense. Expect him to be utilized much more in 2023.
ATH – Titan Glassman | Omaha North | 6’1/195 – After transferring to Omaha North last season, Glassman was used wide receiver with notable success. Glassman caught 31 passes for 447 yards and a touchdown for the Vikings.
ATH – Caden VerMaas | Millard North | 6’0/195 – Already committed to Nebraska, VerMaas has unreal ability with the football in his hands. VerMaas rushed for 665 yards and eight scores added also added two punt return touchdowns, a touchdown reception, and a passing touchdown. VerMaas recorded 34 tackles on defense.

Defense
DL – Pierre Allen Jr. | Lincoln Southeast | 6’3/200 – Allen emerged as a key contributor on defense for the Knights a sophomore with 75 tackles and two tackles for loss. Allen is a prospect who could definitely see more recruiting attention heading his way soon.
DL – Cameron Bell | Omaha Westside | 6’0/280 – Part of an outstanding defensive line on a state champion, Bell did much of the dirty work against the run lining up as a nose tackle. Bell was extremely disruptive and effected the game in ways that cannot always be measured in the stat department.
DL – Pierce Mooberry | Millard North | 6’4/215 – Mooberry was extremely useful on both sides of the ball for the Mustangs in 2022. Mooberry caught 14 passes for 347 yards and four touchdowns while recording 35 tackles and four tackles for loss on defense. Mooberry could develop into one of the top recruits in the class.
DL – Adam Pugh | Millard South | 6’4/220 – One of many outstanding defensive linemen at Millard South. Pugh was active as a sophomore, recording 30 tackles with 8.5 tackles for loss and five sacks. Another prospect who will need to be monitor for further recruiting development after this season.
DL – Thomas Roberts | Boone Central | 6’4/200 – Roberts was able to create pressure on the quarterback as a sophomore, recording 53 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks for Boone Central. Boone Central will be considered one of the favorites in Class C-1 in 2023.
DL – Alijah Wayne | Omaha Central | 6’4/210 – Part of an outstanding junior class at Omaha Central, Wayne is one of the top holdovers for the Eagles. Wayne registered 59 tackles, three tackles for loss, and an interception while catching a touchdown pass in 2022. Wayne will be part of a much improved Omaha Central squad this fall.
LB – Christian Jones | Omaha Westside | 6’3/215 – Jones is considered a national Top 150 prospect with a laundry list of Power 5 offers to prove it. Jones recorded 60 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks, and an interception while learning a new scheme after a transfer from Omaha Burke. Jones was recently invited to the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, showcasing the top high school football recruits nationally.
LB – Sawyer Schilke | Kearney | 6’3/225 – Schilke was part of a Kearney playoff team from a year ago, recording 48 tackles and five tackles for loss. Schilke added help on offense in short yardage situations, rushing for 91 yards and three scores. Schilke is part of a Kearney team that comes into the 2023 season with some hype statewide.
LB – Leyton Snodgrass | York | 6’5/205 – Another in a long line of successful Snodgrass athletes from York, perhaps this version is the most athletic one yet. Snodgrass will provide help on offense at tight end in 2023, but recorded four sacks at linebacker. This is definitely a prospect to monitor in the future.
DB – Desmond Dhaenens | Millard North | 5’11/165 – A true shutdown corner, Dhaenens put together good tape, recording 11 tackles while intercepting three passes. Dhaenens has a bright future. already putting together good tape and is a prospect to note when game planning a passing attack.
DB – Kale Johnson | Papillion-La Vista | 6’3/210 – Johnson may outgrow his safety position in the near future after recording 66 tackles as a sophomore on a Class A playoff team from 2022. With his frame, Johnson is an intriguing prospect who will get a lot of eyes down the road.
DB – Landon Kelley | Lincoln Southwest | 5’10/165 – Another cornerback with a great sophomore season, Kelley recorded 21 tackles and picked off three passes for a Class A quarterfinalist in 2022. Kelley proved his worth as a legitimate cornerback for the Silver Hawks.
DB – Isaac Pamaran | Papillion-La Vista | 5’10/180 – An interesting prospect with a high level of production on both sides of the football, Pamaran caught 18 passes for 450 receiving yards and five touchdowns while averaging 25 yards per catch and on defense registered 82 tackles and two interceptions.
DB – Thomas Spears | Ashland-Greenwood | 5’8/175 – Another two-way prospect, Spears plays bigger than his size and is highly athletic. Spears caught 50 passes for 492 yards and scores while recorded 61 tackles and two interceptions on defense for the Bluejays. What he lacks in size is made up with his athleticism.
