@Carm may be able to give a better explanation but based on my understanding of what he's said, Sims cannot go on NIL because he was recruited and once on scholarship you cannot go off of it. Nebraska is required to supply the scholarship for the remainder of Sims eligibility if he remains on the team.

If a player enters the portal the school no longer has to honor the scholarship, right? So could he enter the portal then come back on NIL?
