Keona Wilhite would be a huge add to the 2024 class

Wilhite signed with Washington but when DeBoer left, the four-star defensive end from Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe reopened his recruitment and saw a flood of attention from programs. Since backing off the Huskies, Wilhite has heard from Alabama, Texas, Michigan State, UCLA, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida, USC and he told me itā€™s "not a complete no for UWā€ as well.

I know the work you did made it completely clear that the 85 has to be well-managed and still impacts who can be on the roster even in the current NIL environment.
I think I need to create a roster attrition view for non scholarship given that we believe we need to be down to 120 total. 85 as scholarship and 35 as walk-ons.

assuming we continue to generate enough NILK money to fund the acquisition of scholarship players up to the internal roster limit, we are simply looking at a reduced overall roster made of the 85 limit players and an easier to manage pool of 35 NIL players who all should have the ability to contribute in a meaningful way.

It is likely to mean far fewer Nebraska kids get to walk on, not only because the roster is smaller but also because they will be competing for spots with a national talent pool. It will be interesting to see how the fan base reacts.

If they like winning, they should react favorably. We all know they wonā€™t, though.
