It's Official - CU @ NU is Primetime on NBC

I'll be convinced it's over ONLY if we have the 1992 repeat NU-CU game that I am (partially) expecting.

The 92 beat down was the catalyst for Tommie Frazier's arrival as well as our mid 90s dominant run. If we duplicate that then that will be the end of The Simulation.

If we squeak by w a 30-27 final score then I'd say no.

As long as we win this year. Been a LONG time comin'. Time to exorcise those demons.

The 92 game is one that will never be forgotten for me.... can remember most things that happened in that game, down to the particulars of many plays (and for good reasons), and what happened on the field during all of it. Was an epic beatdown we gave them. Just epic. That beatdown in that cold and shitty weather, is one of my most cherised memories. Some things are not replaceable in life - THAT game is one of those.

I second that our gameday atmosphere sucks now. Of course, winning would help

I was at the Maryland game last year and even for a morning game it was just dead. So many olds sitting. Cringe songs. Honoring the all anal team from 1964 in every time out. Just brutal. Again, doesn’t help when tard Jeff sims turned it over like 3 times in his 5 snaps, but it is a serious problem

We gotta start winning yesterday. Young generation already doesn’t care about husker football and the window to convert them is almost closed

Like I said, memorial is a morgue.

Were we honoring someone every TV timeout before Turd? I honestly can't remember.

2008 Colorado at Nebraska was the loudest I have ever heard Memorial Stadium. When we hit that 57 yard field goal I couldn't hear the person sitting next to me. Was insane. Stadium is just dead playing garbage old music that gets no one pumped.

I just think we've been so painfully shitty for so long that everyone in memorial is on pins and needles waiting for the next impossibly shitty thing to happen at the worst possible moment. Hard to get loud and excited when you've got a full bladder waiting to piss your pants.

It obviously starts with good Football.

I really wish the Athletic Department would pick 1-2 games a year, night games, that they just completely market to the 21-35 year old crowd.

Use the 11am/2:30pm games to appease the olds, but in a perfect world this Colorado game has extra beer vendors in the stadium, pumping newer music, pre-game festivities for the younger crowd, etc.

It’d be electric in there.

HOPEFULLY with a new AD that doesn't necessarily have ties here and has some experience in the South (Tulane), that he can bring some new flavor to gameday activities. Obviously, beer in the stadium would be a start and I think would keep the students in there longer and therefore more hostile.

PBA seems to be 'hostile' and do things right, but the Nebrasketball fanbase is also probably 'younger', in a way. The tournament game in Memphis was incredibly hostile.

Winning does cure everything.

There is absolutely zero home field advantage in Lincoln
Pretty true for day games. There’s an older lady who sits in the row in front of me and she’s at every day game with her husband. She’s falls asleep every fucking game. I’m not talking about a quick power nap at halftime either. She nods off throughout the final three quarters of every single game.

Of course like most older people they don’t go to the night games, which is part of the reason night games are so much louder.

Why do people like that even go to games?

Excellent points.

PBA is an interesting comparison because PBA has a lot of grandparent-age STHs (they're the only ones that want to drive down from Omaha for a 7pm TUES night game). Women's VB is another interesting comparison bc their fanbase is EXTREMELY old but they have great crowds, relative to other VB teams.

Maybe it really just is FB fans tired of having their heart ripped out in every big game for 23 yrs. Bc our old people are loud for MBB and VB.

But I also think FB has more 75 yr olds who keep renewing STHs because they feel "obligated" since the seats have been in their family since the 1940s.
