“Sip said…” - those guys have to stand by their narrative to maintain. If they change positions now they look like guys just going by the rumors and that they’re not plugged in. Then if Rhule is announced, no one out there will remember because the talk all becomes about his staff and the hire, blah blah blah. It’s like politics now. The camps are dug in and aren’t changing their tunes at this point. They’ll say Gary was wrong even if Rhule is the guy because they’ll say technically he hasn’t signed when Gary said he did or something like that.

I'm also not sure why it's going down this way....it's weird. But it's also like the most Nebraska thing ever. Small potatoes in the big scheme of things but...

There's one thing we know for certain. Sip and Deano will lie / keep info from the public intentionally.

Short of a coach getting cold feet or another job coming into play before everything is official, this is a done deal. Most coaching searches are like 1-2 weeks. Turd has been negotiating for 1-2 months to iron out all the details. You dont go through that entire process and then on the day when he signs go, ": Oh wait, you said 5 million for assistants, we only said 4 million." Its all been ironed out for the past 2 months. Offering and accepting a job is a formality.

Personally, I think this is just the natural pushback/doubt before its leaked or confirmed. That said, i dont know jackshit. I only play a contract lawyer on TV.
