Hudson Card to Purdue

1. Never trust a college football writer who doesn't even live in a place where college football matters.

2. Jeff Brohm is legitimately one of the best coaches of the passing game in college football, probably the best. And that QB the past few years was perfect for what he does. There's no chance they don't take at least a small step back.

Well he will have a different coach so who knows what the offense will look like going forward.

It was a tongue in cheek comment.
I never saw him play TBH, I was being silly.

I was just amazed that all of twitter seemed to be united in the "Card = home run for Purdue" line of thinking. As others have mentioned, Thompson has already beaten out Card once. CT has shown ability to succeed in the B1G, Card hasn't. I'd take Casey.

I concur with your thoughts. Besides being tongue in cheek, there was a bit of sarcasm in my earlier post.

Card is not a bad QB. He has good experience and PT. But what if he is injured?

Purdue loses QB Brady Allen to the transfer portal, he's 6'-5, 205 lbs. (Aidan O'Connell completes his elgibility this season, as well as UCLA transfer Austin Burton). Jack Albers is a senior this season; not sure if he returns next season.

That leaves them with Mike Amaino, Christian Gelov, Kyle Adams, and Hayden Timosciek.

Adding Card through the portal is a good pickup for HC Ryan Walters and OC Graham Harrell, but all backup QBs are unproven.

It's something to watch out for, on how well (or hopefully not!) Purdue does next season with Card at QB.
