Sign Up Now!That's not to HH's detriment IMO. HH isn't someone that can come off of a read well. I can't think of a single check down he's made. Which means he's a one-read QB. He may show reads from time to time but that's all part of the play and not actual progression. So, if I'm right, it's more valuable to give him more pass pro.Satts play calling does him no favors. He’s already decision strained but several drives consist of plays with a minimum 3 options and a man in motion. High probability of fumble.
If you're interested in Rhule's strategy w HH you should listen to the entire Rhule press conference from yesterday's game. He explains what they're doing w HH in precise deal.I think @Baron Winnebago hit the nail on the head - HH hasn't learned that it is smarter to go down sometimes rather than resist going down with all your will.
That’s a dumb argument by Rhule. Calling your QBs number right after he gets rocked is not putting your team in the best position to win. I don’t care if it’s the perfect down and distance for that play.If you're interested in Rhule's strategy w HH you should listen to the entire Rhule press conference from yesterday's game. Cliffs notes version:
Rhule doesn't believe in coaching around "what if_____ happens" (worst case scenario). He believes in not coaching scared. He believes his team should "just play" and execute the plays they call. He believes good teams like Alabama etc "just play" and they don't play call around predicting bad outcomes.
On the HH getting shitrocked play....Rhule said it was a fine playcall, but HH needs to learn to throw the ball away and stop holding on to it so long (trying to make something happen). Said if it looks hard, Purdouche's QB did it several times, so if they can do it, HH can do it.
Bottom line: Rhule isn't gonna be changing plays to avoid turnovers. He's going to keep calling for the same thing. HOWEVER my intuition tells me Satt may have had a light come on when they say Emmett Johnson have some success at the end of the game. I'm hoping that we see more conventional runs based on the fact that you can now have some trust with the OL & RB getting 5 yds on conventional run plays (which we haven't been able to playcall consistently since Ozigbo in 2018).
I agree. Completely stupid. That’s a dumb argument by Rhule. Calling your QBs number right after he gets rocked is not putting your team in the best position to win. I don’t care if it’s the perfect down and distance for that play.
He's brokenSims is mentally gone.
The emergence of a deep threat the past two weeks should help that. Hopefully we see more TE over the middle, too.I agree. Completely stupid.
I'd be shocked if we didn't see a lot of playcalls for conventional run plays for EJ vs MSU. The problem with that though is MSU knows HH isn't a great passer so they'll load up 8 in the box and there won't really be any room for EJ up the middle plays. So we'll get into a bunch of 3 & outs if we do that.
We really need HH to be able to be accurate on 10-20 yd pass plays, which he isn't now. That's why we're having to do so many HH run plays (bc of the RB up the middle is completely clogged up),
Reminds me of T-MagicHis running style does not help. The last couple of weeks he has started to slow down when he sees a defender, making himself a target and giving the defender extra time to rip the ball out.
I think it also doesn't help that Satterfield apparently has zero experience coaching an option QB. TBF the vast majority of OCs in FBS don't have this experience either. His running style does not help. He runs literally nothing like TaylorReminds me of T-Magic
Tasers on ballsacks. You drop the rock, your cock gets shocked.Haarberg leads the country in fumbles despite not taking the starting role until game 3:
Our two starting QBs this season have combined for 12 in 8 games.
To put this in perspective, Adrain Martinez' worst season for fumbling was his freshman year in 2018. He had 12 in 11 games. He had 7-8 a year for his other three seasons.
How do we get this under control? I ask because I really don't know.
I’m talking about the way he essentially stops when he’s about to get hit.He runs literally nothing like Taylor
just accept it and embrace it, brother. fumbling is who we are.Haarberg leads the country in fumbles despite not taking the starting role until game 3:
