*Caution Long Post*
Was just reading on TOS it was mentioned by Brock Knutson that Cockeye State had a 2.5 hour afternoon practice while he was there visiting. How long are our practices, and are there NCAA regulations to practice time?
A few years back it was mentioned that Scott liked “fast” practices and also likes to practice at the ass crack of dawn. Is this really beneficial for 18-22 year olds?
There have been many studies done that people perform better in the afternoon not super early morning. Especially younger people. Also we know how important good quality sleep is. In HS we had morning and afternoon lifting sessions. The afternoon was always higher energy.
If our players are half asleep at practice @ 6 a.m. how much are they actually taking in and how much are they actually improving? Especially with our “fast and efficient” practice approach.
How many games during the season are played at 6 in the morning? My vote would be practice at 11 every day because that is when 80% of our games are played.
Anyway, The results don’t lie when you look at Campbell vs. Frost the past 4 years. Is it a philosophy thing? Also does this play a part in why we’ve ran off so many guys? (Roughly 50% of every scholarship player under Frost)
Sorry for the rant. Thoughts?
