Health/Wellness life hacks you’ve recently discovered?

My dentist recently mentioned I might have sleep apnea due to the wear pattern on my teeth which led me to digging and I have started taping my mouth shut and using nasal strips to open up breathing through my nose while sleeping and the difference has been tremendous.

Before it was a huge struggle even getting up in the morning and after lunch I really struggled focusing on work after my morning energy burned off, not to mention need an enormous amount of caffeine to get to the gym afterwards. Also would sleep in super late on the weekends which I assume was my body trying to make up for the poor sleep quality during the week even though I would get around 8 hours each night.

Since I implemented the mouth tape and nasal strips I’ve been waking up way more refreshed and have an even amount of energy throughout the day that I didn’t think was possible. Really been life changing. I’m also on the younger side at 29 and not overweight and take my fitness seriously so I didn’t think it would be possible for me to have an issue like this but just goes to show how important it is to stay in tune with your body when stuff starts feeling off.

Teeth grinding can also be related to possibly having a magnesium deficiency. Maybe try taking some magnesium glycinate before bed since it helps relax the nervous system and etc. Just stay away from magnesium oxide and citrate.

If you don't have regular access to a sauna, I found a quick cheap fix. Little sauna tent from Amazon. I was pleasantly surprised how steamy it get (I can't leave it on the highest setting). I always feel so healthy after a 30 minute sauna session. Don't know what it is.

No definitely hit up the mag citrate.

Mag citrate is more helpful for bowel movements and why it’s recommended to drink before a colonoscopy. I’ve been taking a magnesium multi supplement that has mag taurate, malate, and glycinate due to having deadly PVCs that can cause my heart to go into ventricular tachycardia. This all hit me when I was 37 years old and before that, I was fit, but was grinding my teeth bad and not eating healthy. Plus magnesium helps your vitamin D levels, melatonin, and everything else.

This was going to be one of mine. Not only are a lot of people magnesium deficient, but for a lot of people, taking magnesium glycinate before bed will have you out like a light once you hit the pillow.

Been taking these for the last couple months before bed along with around 2.5g of melatonin. Felt like I was getting deeper sleep at the start but the effects kind of leveled off, which doesn’t mean that it’s not doing anything though. Also had some crazy dreams the first couple weeks

You probably have a minor tongue tie that was never diagnosed. If uncorrected tongue ties are one of the leading predictors of diabetes, heart disease, sleep apnea, hypertension, and a myriad of other conditions. Also plays a crucial role in posture, lung volume, and energy levels.

There’s a reason it’s not good to be called a “mouth breather.”
