So let's assume the B1G passes on Kansas, ISU, and everyone else in the rements of the Big 12. Where does the B1G go from here?

Partner with the PAC or ACC?
Raid either conference for their prestigious AAU schools?
Or do nothing as the SEC continues to move forward with expansion?

If they were smart they’d form an alliance with the PAC 12 and the ACC. That way the SEC couldn’t take anyone else from those conferences and turn into NFL Lite. Power in numbers.

So according to a poster in the tMB discord we created, Okie State and KU are in the 'best position for a B1G move.' His source is "Buddy in Stillwater, his grandad is a former wrestling coach and all-American. I’ll leave it at that. Who knows if true but it’s what I have heard".

Doubtful OSU would get invite if they don't have AAU status. Who knows though?

I'd be really surprised if they invited OSU & KU. KU is an option for sure. I don't think B1G expands just to expand. I can see a partnership with PAC12 like mentioned above. Boston College is an interesting option as well. Lots of eyeballs in Beantown.

I don't know... if you're looking at it as a competition between the SEC & the B10 what would the B10 need to do to beat adding Oklahoma and Texas?

This was my 1st thought as well. At least until they can actually steal someone who's worth a damn. Tie everyone up so they can't be taken by the SEC to give yourself leverage/options for future moves.

I've been in Lawrence working with KU for a few days. Talking to some of the professors, they think they're headed to the B1G. Fairly confident I think they are.

Of course they do.

They're academics and probably at least slightly delusional, if not fully delusional. Just my observation when I work with college and university personnel.

Cockeye State believes the same thing. I can see KU in a package deal with snagging PAC-12 AAUs but KU & ISU on its own doesn’t make any money unless there’s some future where Amazon is gonna go wild

Countering OU and Texas to the SEC with Cockeye State and KU is like getting back at your wife for cheating on you by fucking your dad.

Just coming back from Chicago and what I understand is the B1G leadership is worried about the CoVid Delta variant and is actively looking at making the decision to cancel the upcoming season. News should break soon.

That aint real is it?

You know it's gonna be Kansas + ISU. The idea of having a Cali or Texas school join seems nonsensical and unrealistic...and rightfully so, in my ignorant opinion.

I just don't see it. I really hope that doesn't happen. KU does make some sense. ISU makes zero sense. Bringing in new teams to your conference isn't really about the athletic programs it's about generating more revenue.

Outside of basketball, they don't really provide much...but there aren't many moves that make sense, so you build on the B1G strength... Basketball. Not exciting, but it is what it is.

If you were the PAC 12 why wouldn't you try to add, Baylor, Okie State and or/KU? You'd have the LA Market, Seattle Market, Denver Market, Dallas Market and Kansas City Market. The teams wouldn't be all that marketable IMO but you would be expanding the PAC 12s geographical and television footprint
