He was fun to watch but pretty short lived.Anfernee
On a side note I'm 80% sure his mom wanted to name him Anthony but didn't know how to spell or pronounce it.

His death wiped out the rape on the likeness scale. It’s weird seeing how much opinion on Kobe has shifted. Dude was probably more hated than Lebron at his peak.
Turkoglu was pretty solid and I was a fan of Rashard Lewis. But ya, that roster didn't end doing anything else really. He dragged a pretty mediocre Magic team to the finals. I mean look at this roster - who was the second best player? Jameer?

I don't disagree with that. I didn't realize Dwight was that far back.We have Ben Wallace on this list (and I am a HUGE fan of Big Ben). But Dwight Howard was arguably the most dominant player in the league over that stretch. His 2008 dunk contest was one of the more exciting ones in recent(ish) memory.
He was already at the bottom of the hill when he got to LA. His back was in bad shape by then.Shine came off the apple when he flopped in LA
Sure, after the fact but that wasn’t how people viewed it going in. Huge fucking deal when it happenedHe was already at the bottom of the hill when he got to LA. His back was in bad shape by then.
As a Lakers fan that's how I viewed it. Maybe getting 15 min a game as another big.Sure, after the fact but that wasn’t how people viewed it going in. Huge fucking deal when it happened
idk man, it was one of the biggest trades in NBA history when it happened. Talk was the Lakers were the title favorites and that Howard would be the face of the Lakers franchise when Kobe left. Sure, some of it was reputation, but he was still an all-star that year and the following one in Houston. As a Lakers fan that's how I viewed it. Maybe getting 15 min a game as another big.
I see the problem. I'm thinking of his second stint. Completely forgot about the 1st one. You're absolutely right. I thought it was going to be a Shaq like dynasty starting. Here I am 10 years later forgetting it even happened.idk man, it was one of the biggest trades in NBA history when it happened. I was also a fan of Dwight and his freakishly wide shoulders.I'm a little surprised that no one has brought up Dwight Howard. Drafted in 2004...he had a decent run with the Magic at the end of the 2000's.
Yeah. I feel like Dwight will end up underrated because people will remember him being a fucking weird dude who everyone ended up hating instead of his like 5-7 year peak which was absolutely dominantI was also a fan of Dwight and his freakishly wide shoulders.
The guy could do things nobody else could. Then as his career went on, it became clear he would also frequently not do the things everybody should.
When he was on, he was otherworldly. But he also wore out his welcome almost everywhere and underperformed a lot.
He played 1993- 2007 with over 15,700 points. Doesn’t seem short lived but I guess I’m not sure where this stacks up with others either as the late 90s/early 2000s was the last time I watched any NBAHe was fun to watch but pretty short lived.

Hakeem was so good that he may be one of the only players that could be drafted before MJ and you can legitimately have zero gripes with the pickCame to post Dikembe Mutombo. Then I looked him up. Holy shit I’m older than I thought. So Hakeem the dream Olajuwon.
He was also hurt busy the shift in play style in the nba. When he came in it took him about 7 years to get up to 300 pounds which was to try to be like Shaq.I was also a fan of Dwight and his freakishly wide shoulders.
