I could tell Rhule was full of shit at the PC yesterday. Great work by Rhule, love seeing him go out side his network and get the best guy for the job. Sure feels like everything is coming together for his third season.

If Ekeler was the master mind behind Pelini's special teams when they were semi descent, then I'd consider it a win.

This is huge. He has ranked no worse than 36th in his 4 years at Tennessee in special teams efficiency. In 2024 he ranked 9th and 2022 he ranked 2nd in the nation.

I think we may have only got beat on special teams a handful of times during his tenure here. We executed so well on special teams it really stood out when we had a bad play. I think he’ll be missed more than people realize.

Tennessee Volunteers senior defensive analyst Levorn Harbin received recognition from 247Sports for being instrumental in a successful 2024 signing class for the Vols.

So I wonder if we will still to Rhule's statement yesterday about the STC not being a recruiting position. Wasn't Ekler a pretty good recruiter? I guess the Will Compton story sticks out as the only thing I really remember about his recruiting.
He does seem to be the perfect fit to replace Foley as the In-State Road-Tripper-In-Cheif, being a native and all. He would have to be one of the 10 to do that, though.
But then the one thing the Tennessee fans quoted ITT seemed to complain about ME was his recrutiting. (Or maybe he was decent but this Chop guy is just that good?)

I'm going to guess he is still going to be on staff in some capacity. Loyalty is a big thing for Rhule, Foley and guys like Satt and Snow have been with him for a long time so he's not just going to cut them loose without making sure they have a soft landing.
