There’s no reason to deflect random rumors. This tells me he’s pissed off with the negotiations and didn’t want Aranda to get a raise out of it. So, I’d rule Aranda out at this point.

He’s not*, but it’s “interesting” that he would publicly comment via Twitter on this matter.

I'll take your word for it. Seems like anyone in the AD who is commenting on anonymous Twitter accounts had, at best, a lapse in judgment

But even doing that facilitates the “process of elimination” being played by our media and fans.

To me, it’s akin to Bill Clinton’s infamous, “I did not have sex with that woman!” line. Technically true (probably) in much the same way as ONE of the items in the original Tweet was (perhaps) technically incorrect.

I doubt Doug did this without thought and/or input from others. At his core, he’s an accountant. They don’t color outside the lines in my experience.

The whole thing is coordinated and I’m sure Turd is aware of what Ewald tweeted. Neither man comes off half-cocked.

This is likely a calculated move.

Could it be that Aranda wants the job, but we can’t come to an agreement with his agent so we throw this out there? Yes.

I didn't say it wasn't weird to say or wrong, but technically he didn't say Dave Aranda wasn't the guy either. He just said the quoted message was wrong.

Sleuths on RRS have gone back into the account and there’s pictures on there he posted of family going back 5 or so years to his time at UNO. Seems unlikely someone went through that much work to create a fake account for a person 99% of our fanbase didn’t know even existed until now.

I tend to lean toward the smoke screen as well, if it is Aranda he doesn’t need the distraction. I’m certain he is focused on preparing his team. Truth be told, I have no clue what is going on with the search. I tend not to believe anything. End of the month we find out.
