I don't know. Once Grant was N was when we pulled back on this kid. I would rather have Grant than this kid.
I don't see any evidence suggesting he was going to be better than your 5th string RB. I don't see any evidence suggesting he is better than any of our top 4 and I know they are very excited about Allen.
I have no clue what Ok State situation is. Maybe they are really desperate for a depth RB?
Also look at our RB room....
Johnson
Yant
Grant
Ervin
Stepp
Allen
E. Johnson
He is at best in that 5th back range. If we lost Stepp I still don't see how you take him. You have a lot of RBs.
Hard to have egg on your face when essentially every Husker fan was screaming that this was a stupid offer to begin with and he wasn't any better than Yant.

I'm surprised a ranked program like Oklahoma St went after him. He was a player I did not think looked like he was a Power5 level RB. Maybe if we used a FB you could slide him in there but he didn't look like he had the speed or moves to get through a hole quickly. Even big backs are small when a 325 lb linemen is hitting them. Need to be able to get that size downhill and beating on the LB's and D Backs. Hopefully he has a good career and proves us wrong. Signing Grant makes much more sense to me when it comes to skills needed for our offense.
