I was shocked that both threads from today stayed up as long as they did.

I feel bad for Dean , I really like him as a person & he’s worked hard to build this thing for a long time. I’m giving him this year to figure it out before I pull out (haha) but we’ll see how it goes. Glad to see TT will be coming back weekly now.. The recruiting dead period has really hurt them too without the normal info coming out they would normally have

Lol, I had almost forgotten about that. Man, I was pissed. To be fair, most of that was just what an utter shit sandwich it was looking forward to the start of the Frost era all year and all day (it was a night game, of course) and then getting the worst case of blue balls ever. But still, Dean was definitely only worth following on twitter that night. People were just copying his tweets onto the board instead of him coming on himself. It wasn't a great look.

I bet you still enjoyed some bourbon or other such delicacy that night.

On a different note, the creation of 247, and subsequent loss of the Huskers Illustrated partnership had to be tough for Dean. It sucked for his content, because Aaron and Mike Babcock were really good partners to have. If I remember correctly, at the launch of 247, Dean had to announce that Huskers Illustrated would be moving to the newly created 247. I don't think HI and 247 are affiliated anymore, though.

At least he offered some form of Olive Branch to try to throw the off his scent. . Dean and I have a very sorted past. Back when Rivals use to crash on Signing Day we really got into it not only on the board but also in DM's. I took a day off for signing day and basically made him promise me it wouldn't crash again like it had the year before. And it did. To say I was pissed is an understatement. He whined like a little baby back bitch to me in DM's about how it was out of his control and he thought it wouldn't crash. Also cried about how the site was how he fed his family.

I'm sympathetic that this covid/cancellation thing is fucking up the man's business, but other than an additional late morning chat, he hasn't really done much to try to make people stay.

I think I was between accounts when the 247 thing happened. During my initial run, which started in 2002, Scout was the main competitor. They obviously only folded a few years ago, but 247 stole their thunder a while ago. I got off sometime during the Pelini era, so it must have been then.

I had completely forgotten about scout, and I wonder if my memory is confusing scout with 247. I don't think so, but I also doubt there is a wikipedia page for that sort of progression.

I feel for him and want the product to improve. Responded telling him to listen to his paying customers, not be thin skinned and owning a business is not about being right. It's about hearing your customers complaints and trying to appease them even if he doesn't necessarily agree with them. And that some of his Mods really suck
