I’m sure some try to marry defensive with offensive philosophy but I have never understood with the caliber of facilities mixed with money we can’t spend 1.5 to 2 million on DC and OC each. White was proven and has proven to be so far a very good hire. Satterfield I was extremely underwhelmed. We can’t go get Kendal Briles from TCU? Can’t go get Ladwig from Utah? Grimes at Baylor? Our issues at NU the last 15-20 years are just as much HC related as it is assistant coaching hires and staff spending. Urban Meyer said it, you want to be elite better hire elite assistant coaches. Look at our offensive staff and this will tell you something also I think: if you let Sat go tomorrow who takes over? There is nobody remotely qualified to

Satterfield is probably paid top 20-25 percent for a coordinator isn’t he? Nebraska could have still got someone way better paying that.

I don’t think he could’ve. Rhule’s style is micromanaging and doesn’t sit well with a large majority. He most likely had a limited pool to begin with.

How do we feel about Northern Illinois?
Beat Boston college but lost to Southern Illinois.
Boston College barely beat Holy Cross last week too.
The next two games are badly needed to get the offense on track. Should be games that we can comfortably win. Both teams seem to have better offense than defense, especially La Tech.

Should be good games to get some stuff straightened out before the probable loss to Michigan.

Pelini had to have a couple years where we were positive in the turnover department. He had NC caliber defenses with Callahan’s players.

There were 5-6 guys who could have been good hires. Rhule was in the group, but he wasn’t a for sure thing. Nebraska for some reason is the place where head coaches go to kill a career.
Nebraska’s problem is the admin can’t handle being uncomfortable.

They make a hire that feels safe and reminds them of the 90s

I was just thinking today that the last time we had a positive turnover margin was probably in the early 2010s and I guess I was right.

Edit: Nm missed 2016
