Coach Thurman and Coach Hart delivered this chilling warning to the team before Friday night's disaster against Stanford. Some of these quotes are brutally honest and direct.
"Some of you have the most horrific practice habits I've ever seen.""If you love something or someone, you take care of it. So do you guys love football?""If you want to have a chance to play pro football, most of y'all in here are gonna have to change drastically and quickly. Or start thinking about that alternative.""We just came here thinking we're gonna get results. But you're not trying to master your practice.""We're barely scraping by and you wonder why you get your ass beat by top-ranked teams. We cannot be result driven, fellas.""We gotta hold each other accountable, coaches included."
Colorado is going to have two long weeks to look into the mirror and figure out its true identity. Fortunately, the most memorable lessons come from the most painful mistakes. No one on the team is enjoying the aftermath of this loss, but this might be a well-needed wake up call before the toughest continuous stretch of CU's schedule.
