Look at Wazzu who beat #2ndChoice last night too. No idea how good their coach is but they have an absolute hooper at QB. Cam Ward is fucking good.
I honestly think Wazzu has a pretty good coach too. #2ndChoice is going to have some real growing pains on offense too. I still believe they easily make a bowl though.

Definitely.

If we weren't ass on O, we could have had them down double digits by half. But Prime's immediate success does make me wonder why we can't be a competent team in year 1. Maybe TCU and us are just really bad and that's how it looks like he's starting so fast, but I'm not sure of anything anymore
Deion had the built in advantage of having a biological son that is an NFL 1st round QB. That's not really a replicatable system.

As you mentioned, CU could very easily be 0-2 right now. The team is not that good. They will make a bowl game now though.

If Rhule picked a better QB then his team would look better than CU's at just about every area. The QB deficiency has caused spillover into other areas where now those units are being overworked etc. Sims is like a toxic liquid that's contaminated the entire team. He's a D- level QB.

If Rhule picked even a B- level QB most of the country would be in awe at how solid the team looks. And they'd probably be 2-0.

It also shows you can develop a competent offense in todays college football with the right coach. Rhule fucked himself out of the gate with Sims. He better get the next qb right or he will be another coach who goes down the shitter.
The one thing that gives me hope, is that Turd has watched this from afar for years.

You would hope Rhule would realize the sense of urgency and wouldn't need the AD to intervene. And TBH, you wouldn't want an AD meddling. If Rhule cannot figure that out, then yikes. Frost lacked common sense - coupled with arrogance, isn't usually a good combo.

That’s all good and well but why in the fuck did Rhule think Sims was the answer. That’s a horrific fuck up. We might be 2-0 with CT who he let go.

This is a good post, because I agree. If I didn't agree, it'd be a bad post. 🤣

But yes, if he had a stud QB, we'd be 2-0. No doubt in my mind.

Yeah this feels right even though I don't think Shadeur is a first rounder

Not a stud QB, an average QB. I actually think we'd possibly be 2-0 with a slightly below average QB as well. (though these things are hard to quantify)

You mean someone that can catch a snap, and have the awareness to not run out of bounds?

What's incredible is that if Sims had no turnovers thus far, he'd actually be good enough to win. For this style of offense, I love his size and athleticism and flashes of passing well. But you cannot keep giving the ball to the opposition.

My post wasn't meant to be a compliment to Rhule...it's just a statement of facts. If Rhule doesn't pick Sims & takes an average (C+ to B- level) QB the team is probably 2-0 now.

The fact that Rhule fucked up the QB portal decision (while he did almost everything right) is going to fuck up his entire first season. And he's fucking up all the good will that he worked so hard to establish with Husker fans. All the talks, the podcasts, the WN trips, the overnights...all going to he ruined by the time we get to NOV 10th.

Picking Sims in the portal was a catastrophic error by Rhule. He can come back from it, but he literally nuked all the good will building he did from Dec to Aug with the decision.

To me that's a bigger problem than Satt at the moment.
Here's the thing with Satt, this is the arsenal he has to work with:
  • D- QB
  • a slow RB
  • another RB who fumbles all the time
  • a decent 3rd down RB
  • a 5-3 midget WR
  • one decent possession WR who's been injured
  • walk on white WRs
  • no deep threat WR so you have to bring in a DB to run fly routes
  • a tin man TE w 2 ACL tears already (who looks wildly overrated)
  • one solid mainly blocker TE
  • an OL that is maybe C+ level on a good day

I'm agnostic on Satt at this point, but I have no idea what you'd expect an OC to do with that setup. That has to be the worst offensive setup for any OC in P5. It's way worse than Cockeye's.

You hire the #1 OC in the NFL now and I don't think they could do much better with that setup.
