I think there’s a lot to like with this kid. He’s also much more athletic than a guy like Myles Brennan. Not a blazer, but can move a little.

What’s crazy is that there’s an expectation that 2022 is a banner year where we should expect to win 6+ games. It’s a rebuilding year where we’re replacing a 4 year starting qb along with most the offensive coaches. Also rebuilding most the of the defense.

If it was a situation with a new HC stepping in, as it should’ve been, this would be year 1 of a 3-4 year reboot.

In summation - 3-9.

I was thinking about that yesterday.... That if this tear it up experiment works this should be the worst year of the experiment.

Has Thompson even played at all, or he is one of those highly rated QB's that rode the bench? RSS loves to fall in love with people who are highly ranked but haven't done shit once they got to college.

He was analytically one of the best QBs in the nation early in the year. I haven't watched any of his tape. I just remember seeing his name very high on the EPA list in the first half of the year.

Who actually thinks that it’ll be a banner year? I think Scott gets 2 years after making these changes even with another 3-9 year because Nebraska.

How Texas didn't make a bowl game, playing in the Big 12, with a RB like Bijan Robinson is pretty impressive stuff. Right out of the SF coaching handbook.

Oh I am well aware - But when Virginia's Armstrong stayed put, we mine for Martinez's. We don't mine Armstrong's, they come to us.

Also I believe the "Lee" can be any SUPER white name - Joe Ganz, Zac Lee, Sam Keller, Zac Taylor, Tanner Lee, etc.

Don't worry. If we only end up with Purdy, then Purdy was always the #1 target. If we land Thompson then he was always the #1 target with Purdy as a safety net. Scott Frost knows what he is doing and always pushes the right buttons.

Thompson is a good QB. Played really well before his injury. Texas fell apart after early momentum was crushed, I wouldn't blame that on Casey

No reason to pretend he was #1 though. You can be complimentary of players without saying outrageous shit. "We liked what QB X brought to that room. He's a smart player who really fits what were trying to do here."
