I think it's the opposite actually. Alvarez hired guys that he could puppet as AD and who would listen to him. Wisconsin's success had very little to do with him IMO. Now that Barry is out, I think Chryst's true colors were showing...and it isn't pretty.Agreed. Chryst has a good track record built over time. Bad start to this season but he has a consistent program. What are they expecting here?
He must have some friction with Alvarez.
I don’t think Wisconsin is a better job. They just fired a guy with a 60-20somethings record & did it at the first opportunity so he couldn’t climb out of the hole. Any coach that goes there likely has to run Wisconsin’s scheme & I don’t buy they will change that now that Alvarez is no longer AD. Gary Anderson bailed for Oregon State & Fat Bret bailed cuz they wouldn’t/couldn’t invest the money. It is and he seems like the type of coach that would be successful there.
I hope Leonhard does well enough to retain the job. I don't want to compete with these assholes for any candidates.
It’s either Leonhard or Leipold. Anyone else would shock me.I don’t think Wisconsin is a better job. They will hire a very specific coach who is a fit for them.
I’m pretty confident it’s Leonhard, especially reading Wisky fans talk about Chryst possibly refusing retirement option so maybe a case of the Bob Stoops/Lincoln Riley option & they don’t want to lose himIt’s either Leonhard or Leipold. Anyone else would shock me.
Sometimes I sit back and ponder on if you really are mildly trolling, or are possibly related to BigCL.Leonhard will take over and become permanent and then Wisconsin will continue to be good but never great
Meanwhile Mickey will become permanent and recruit top 15 classes and Nebraska will become an elite developmental program and we will win 5, maybe 10 nattys
I actually feel better with Leonhard taking over the program than Leipold from a Husker fan’s point of view.I’m pretty confident it’s Leonhard, especially reading Wisky fans talk about Chryst possibly refusing retirement option so maybe a case of the Bob Stoops/Lincoln Riley option & they don’t want to lose him
I’d personally be quite alright with thisLeonhard will take over and become permanent and then Wisconsin will continue to be good but never great

It’s the most reasonable course of actionI’d personally be quite alright with this
