We need another back. EJ is good, but that's about it for whatever experience we have. Good things have been mentioned by Iwes, but we just don't know if he can handle half of the workload throughout the season. And then who do we have? Freshman and walk-ons? Oof.

of all the positions, RB is the one where guys can get playing time earlier than anywhere else. We've had a very mediocre RB room for 2 years and Ives has been riding the bench.

EJ is our only known commodity.
Ives might be good but inexperienced.
If those are your top two and one gets hurt you only have Nelson, Booth, Parker behind them. And Booth and Parker haven't been practicing the whole spring because they are injured which suggests their bodies aren't ready for the Big 10.
We are in a position where if even one RB gets injured we are fucked. How many of you think we can get through a whole season without an injured running back?
But, Rhule doesn't want to announce it right away because if we get one then lose one to the portal then we are basically in the same exact spot roster wise.
