I never got to have last year’s, but did the year before, and this year’s. This year is good until the finish falls off a cliff for me.

Wife got a tip from a co-worker at work yesterday that Blanton’s was available at the Package Store on base.

She was able to pick up a bottle for $53 (!) and Eagle Rare for $32.

Don’t know if any of you follow the Facebook page “Lincoln NE Bourbon Enthusiasts” but someone on there just shared that there is some big bourbon sale going on right now at Longwells.

Wish I was in that area to check it out. I am part of a group of about 80 people, and someone within that group is always on the hunt in the STL area, so I get a dozen or more notifications a day about different bottles at area shops.
Only recent pickups have been another bottle of the WT 101 70th Anniversary, and just got a Russel’s Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson B. Got another Kentucky Owl Confiscated because it was dirt cheap, too

Speaking of NBS discord, anyone in Lincoln go down to longwells? They had been hoarding cases and cases of BT, ER, blantons, weller SR and FP. Sounds like most was sold at secondary

Related to that someone I know on FB shared Longwells post, someone commented not to buy anything, not because of the high prices but rather because of whiskey isn’t meant to be aged. lol wtf

More and more are showing up on shelves. Demand is receding and supply is starting to return. More people are starting to turn away from secondary prices.
Funny story - guy I’m acquainted with just recently paid $600 for a CYPB and $1200 for Old Rip with a plan to sell them for profit (doesn’t even like bourbon).
I told him that he is an idiot because you can currently buy them for less, so unless he is holding them for a decade, he isn’t making any money unless he finds someone dumber than he is.

I guess I am just going to start following the drinking threads now.

Are any of the 1792s good? I have been seeing them in GA a lot recently (I used to only see small batch).

Also, Eagle Rare seems to be in abundance now strangely, so I have been snatching them up as much as possible. Is Weller 12 worth buying some shitty store pick for $75 before you can even overpay for the Weller?

Sweet wheat and full proof are both solid for 1792

Depends how much you have to overpay and how shitty the store pick is.

I like W12 a lot. I think the Weller Antique 107 is a little better though for daily drinker

Daily drinker was the wrong term. I just meant if you want something to sip on I like the OWA better. I’ve only ever had one bottle. Found it at msrp though so it wasn’t expensive.
