I was also told Scott wouldn't take the phone call. It felt a little odd, but at the time the new car smell was still there and it was #NFrostWeTrust time. So I just went with Adrian was gonna be the next Heisman at NU.

Was Burrow never offered by Frost and Co? Or was there an issue of not being guaranteed the starting spot? Was Burrow really interested in Nebraska the 2nd time around? I have no idea on any of these. I still think it was more criminal of Pelini and Beck to not even meet with the kid when he was on campus.

My recollection is Pelini and Beck told him he wasn't good enough. That's far more criminal.

Frost said "We think, if we can get by with what we have, it's cleaner than muddying up the situation". So I don't know that there was ever real interest on Nebraska's end in any capacity. I think burrow has said enough that he wanted to play at Nebraska that Frost could have landed him if he made an effort.

To be clear, I don't think the QB had to be burrow, but I thought even at the time that it was a mistake to not add another guy to the mix, particularly since Gebbia didn't seem to fit what they wanted.

The funny thing is we were supposedly a leader for Lamar Jackson that recruiting cycle. What could have been with either Burrow or Lamar. Pelini might have actually saved his job.

He had just played his freshman year and looked pretty good. Burrow hadn't started a game in college yet.

The mistake on Burrow will always lie on Bo Pelini and Tim Beck.

How can it been seen otherwise? Sure hindsight is 20/20, but dealing then, with what you know…it was a straight forward decision.
