NSFW Best live show you’ve seen

I completely forgot I had the most recent season of Archer sitting in my YouTube TV DVR section, and I binged a few episodes last night in a desperate attempt to finish the season before I shoot YTTV in the head for dropping ESPN tonight at midnight. CapitalOne Bowl Season will have to be delivered by a new streaming provider it seems.

Kind of made me sad at the end of the season.

I literally just used a Gif of Jessica Walter in the Decoldest thread.

Damn, RIP

Haven't been to too many concerts. My parents were not about live music and going to concerts and shit like that. Debauchery, etc.

I saw the end of The Who when they were in Omaha in '06 or '07. I was a freshman in HS and really into them at the time so it was sick but also lame that I missed the entire show except for the encore.

I saw Gary Clark, Jr a few years ago at Stir, that was pretty sweet. Didn't really know anything about him and a buddy had an extra ticket. The Lonely Biscuits did a show in at The Bourbon and that was a ton of fun. Friend of mine from college went to high school with the drummer.

Been to a few gay ass country concerts.

I think I was at the same Metallica show at Broncos Stadium. Did Linkin Park open for them that time? The one I went to was in the summer and hotter than heck. I was with Linkin Parks former security guy and they gave us passes. But they were limited access passes. Back stage we ran into Metallicas Tour Manager and he was like WTF, why don't you have the good passes? Hooked us up. They had what they called The Rubber Room. Basically this huge tent that was air conditioned that had food, bar, tv's, video games, couches......... it was like a pimped out pad for the musicians and their guests. Quite the party scene in there. And the best part is there were 3 of us so he gave us 6 passes, cuz what better way to find 3 single women to join us. Was like shooting fish in a barrel when walking around with those passes looking for some talented dirty leg. I believe Limp Bizkit was also on that Stadium Tour. Metallica put on an amazing show, love their energy on stage. They bring it every time.
That sounds awesome! The one I went to was just a few years back. I honestly can't remember if they had an opener, once the uber dropped us off is when the edibles kicked in. About 2-3 songs in it started absolutely pouring and we all had to hit the concourse until it passed.

Saw shinedown at pinewood bowl in September. Best live show I’ve seen. His voice live sounds exactly like it does recorded. Seemed like cool guys too.

I'm really not much for big shows. Been to a few mostly because my wife drug me along. Fell asleep at U2 a few years ago at Century Link. Saw Dave Matthew's at an amphitheater by Sacramento. Was probably the only one that wasn't happy to see them come back for a 2nd encore. Annoyed as fuck by the 4th.

I like going to small venues like Music Box on Cass back in the day. Grasshopper Takeover was always fun.

Holy piss I would have killed to see Grasshopper Takeover but by the time I was old enough to go to concerts I think they had stopped performing. I still listen to their shit from time to time.

My brother in law was pretty much a groupie of theirs. Saw them quite a few times.

My ear started ringing about 20 years ago at one of their concerts at Barrymore's. Still ringing.

Linkin Park.

It will be unpopular for many here, but I pretty much grew up through my high school years on LP. My high school years were not the best and LP's music definitely helped me out with some personal issues.

Come my freshman year at UNL. One day, my fraternity vice president says he had LP tickets in Omaha (coming from the 308, I didn't know jackshit getting around Omaha area) and he couldn't go at the last minute due to a midterm. I said I would take them and I called up my really good friend from my high school days who was also attending UNL. We both said fuck it to whatever the next day of classes brought and drove to Omaha.

From there, LP was awesome. The music live was something out of this park. Sometimes it's not the music, but the experience meeting with old feelings was something to never forget.
I loved LP. Got Hybrid Theory from my schools Scholastic book fair haha

1. Guns and Roses opened up for The Cult back in '87 at Long Beach Arena in Cali. Crazy!! was supposed to see GNR at a place similar to the old Ranch Bowl but their shit was blowing up SOOO some smart promoter had them open for, and blow the doors off The Cult

2. Iron Maiden in '87, very first concert ever (I was 17) sheltered life. Craziest night of my life!! Vinnie Vincent Invasion opened up and Iron Maiden KILLED!!! After the show in the parking lot, a riot broke out and people were getting the shit beat out of them while my buddies and I were drinking and just watching cars burn and and bodies fly. Looking back now I'm like WTF!!!!

3. The Melvins many times

4. MegaDeth too many times to count

5. Metallica....and on and on

I saw the Melvins at the Civic sometime around 1997, 2000, '99?. I can't remember.
I didn't have a ticket and was just staring through the door at the entrance as people lined up, were frisked, and finally let into the show.
The guy at the door eventually felt sorry for me and just let me in.
He didn't check my pockets though, and I walked in with a TON of acid.
Good show.

One of my favorite memories from there was a UFO concert (mid-70’s). Hell, I may have still been in high school.

One of favorite songs of theirs at that time was “Natural Thing”. I hadn’t heard it yet, so I caught the band as they were coming back from intermission by simply walking up to the stage (which was like a foot tall).

Me (to Phil Mogg): “Phil, I’m dying here. When are you going to play “Natural Thing”?

Phil: “It’s not in the set tonight, mate. Sorry.”

Me (edging closer to the stage so I can look him in the eye because he’s short and I’m not): “Phil, I have all of your albums. The two guys I’m sitting with are bigger UFO geeks than I am. They may throw themselves off of the balcony if you don’t play that song tonight!”

Phil (thoughtfully thinking: “Why not?” and her turns to Michael Schenker and yells “Natural Thing” on three. ONE, TWO, THREE …”
