I know it took Sark a few years to get Texas going, but he didn’t inherit poor talent either. I think having the roster limited to 105 will be better for Rhule and not wasting scholarships on questionable local talent.

For a mentor type like Rhule less players might be better giving him more time to focus on other things.

Not sure whos on the scout team, but I’m gonna assume it’s mostly walkons vice the second or third string scholarship guys who could give the first team better looks. Nothing against the walkons, it’s just less personnel to evaluate and manage. Plus if they were using NIL funds to pay for non scholarship guys, it will maybe free up funds for portal or highly talented kids by shrinking the roster.

Desperately needs to find an analyst or assistant that can manage the damn play clock as well! How has he gotten this far in his coaching career being this bad of a clock manager?

I think his time in the NFL set him back.

He gets waaaaayyyyy too conservative at times and wastes at least 2-3 timeouts a few times a game because the matchups don’t look perfect.

His teams at Baylor were much more wide open and free.

Its like the combination of coaching in the NFL and playing in “the old school conference” (B1G, which is a giant farce) make him play to not lose instead of play to win. Which is precisely the mental hurdle our teams haven’t been able to get over for the last 7 years.
