Good clip from Damon's show.

Summary:
  • Holgorsen's direct comments about WRs and RBs are exactly what Rhule needs
  • Rhule needs an enforcer on both sides to be the a-hole sometimes
  • DH could be this guy for Rhule
  • Satterfield was never this guy. Donnie is an a-hole to his OL players though
  • On defense, Evan Cooper was this guy
  • Losing Coop in July might have been a bigger deal than we realized
  • Coop was ruthless in calling out players. Butler probably isn't as comfortable doing that since he just got there
  • Defense is lacking that coach right now in Coop's absence
  • Moving forward, Rhule may need an a-hole/enforcer on both offensive and defensive staffs
I think there's some truth to this. I don't consider Rhule a "soft" coach...but I think you need some a-holes on staff to call out poor play/bad behavior. It sure seems like we are lacking in this (of course I'm not at practices).

The defense was never as good as people thought. We played the worst offenses you will ever see last year. I’m not saying they are total shit, but you’re seeing better offenses this year.

Benning needs to send his kid Cockeye City and go find a sports talk show over there. His BS is old. My 2 cents. There's a reason he's gone through so many talk shows jobs, shipped his kid WHS, got a coaching job. Perhaps he can find a 4th wife over there.

I downplayed that in the offseason but it's very clear that was the case.

Not only were the offenses worse, but the NU offense actually did a decent job of chewing up clock. AND the 3-3-5 was new so it had a little shock factor.

TW deserves a little grace bc they had to deal with the shitball Satt offense....but they've still been the least clutch offense ever (not really). Every time they've needed to get a key, game saving stop they almost always fail.

I’m not a TW hater by any means but the back part of our defense has been exposed this year. If we can’t get pressure with our front half we are screwed. Our dbs aren’t very good and I haven’t been impressed with the linebacker group.

In way Benning makes an argument Rhule should be fired now.
Ive accepted that the financial situation probably gives Rhule at least as long of leash as Frost, but if people are already saying shit like this, it portends that things will get much worse. Benning talks a lot cause he's a media dude so I'm not putting a ton of weight on it but we've very quickly gone from "this is a dude with a vision and process on how to turn sad sack programs into winners" to "maybe he needs to overhaul the staff and get someone to hold people accountable" so consider my cheeks clenched

I can’t see Rhule making it past year 3 if we don’t make a bowl this year or next year. If he gets to a bowl he will definitely get four or more years.

Would be nice if this doesn't go the same way these have gone since I was 12 (minus Bo)

And if they lose tomorrow they are almost guaranteed to lose at Cockeye on 11/29.

If they lose tomorrow that is a 5-1 team going to 5-6.....a terrible run. Then you lose at Cockeye and you're heading into the offseason on a 6-game losing streak. Bad bad.

Tomorrow's game is a massive game for Rhule. Also you got key recruits at this game & if NU comes out sucking, that crowd's gonna be very angry.

I get the sense Fickel is feeling the pressure too given that he just shitcanned his OC mid-season. To the outside perspective this game looks like a 5-5 suckfest but it's actually a massive game for the HCs.

For sure. It would be something if 1st and 2nd choice both went down in flames.

Desperately needs to find an analyst or assistant that can manage the damn play clock as well! How has he gotten this far in his coaching career being this bad of a clock manager?
