Here's Mongo:
Nebraska is pushing to get several top recruits on campus this fall
Nebraska opens the 2024 season with its first four games at home, giving the Huskers an excellent opportunity to host recruits. The Huskers are working on bringing several of their top 2026 and 2027 recruits to Lincoln this fall to experience the game-day environment.
ATH Matt Ludwig
Four-star athlete
Matt Ludwig from Billings (Mont.) West knows a lot about Nebraska and has also visited Lincoln before. Ludwig is the cousin of current Husker and former North Platte Bulldog Vince Genatone. He visited Lincoln in the spring for a practice.
“Right now, they have been talking a lot about the tight end position,” Ludwig said. “I met up with the tight ends coach and was really watching him at practice and seeing what his players were doing. I liked seeing what was being done.”
Ludwig confirmed that he plans to visit Lincoln for the Northern Cockeye game on September 14.
QB Michael Clayton
The top quarterback target for Nebraska in the 2026 class might be
Michael Clayton from Orlando (Fla.) Seminole High School. The 6-foot-3.5 and 200-pound signal-caller, a three-star recruit, picked up an offer from Nebraska from the Husker staff following a strong camp performance in June.
“After the camp, we went on a tour of the facilities and met with coach Thomas. He discussed the Nebraska offense and my camp and practice performance, then offered me.
“I was extremely impressed by everything at Nebraska, from the coaching, facility, the campus, and obviously the history of success, so when the coach offered, I was very appreciative and excited.”
Clayton will be back in Lincoln on September 7 for the nationally televised game against Colorado under the lights in Memorial Stadium.
IOL Hudson Parliament
Hudson Parliament, from Brandon (S.D.) Valley might be atop the IOL board for the Huskers in the 2026 class. Nebraska offered Parliament following a standout camp in early June. The Huskers hosted Parliament again for the elite junior day at the end of July.
“I have been talking to coach Raiola quite a bit,” Parliament said. “He’s usually calling me to check-in. It’s fun talking to coach Rhule, too. I haven’t had a chance to talk with the offensive coordinator at all, but I am looking forward to talking to him and getting to know him.”
Parliament was in Lincoln last season for the game against Purdoodoo. He will return this fall for the game against Colorado on September 7.
WR Mike Brown
Houston (Texas) Legacy School of Sports Sciences wide receiver
Mike Brown hasn’t visited Nebraska before. The four-star wide receiver is planning on making his first trip to Lincoln to see Nebraska play against Colorado on September 7.
Brown has some of the nation’s best programs recruiting him and the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) has four teams standing out for him including Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Michigan. Brown has visited both Texas and Oklahoma twice. He has also visited Michigan.
ATH Brandon Arrington
The Huskers hosted four-star athlete
Brandon Arrington from La Mesa (Calif.) Mount Miguel at the end of July for junior day. Following the visit in July, Arrington said that Nebraska was one of his top schools. While Texas A&M seems to be leading to Arrington, he says the Huskers are “up there also.”
“Nebraska is definitely one of my top schools,” Arrington said. “I am going to get back for a game this fall, 100%. After what I saw, everything was really nice, and I need to get back out to see a game.”
Which game? It’s still being determined. Nebraska is trying to work with Arrington to get back for the Colorado game on September 7. The Huskers see the No. 1 athlete in the 2026 class playing in the secondary in college.
“Nebraska is recruiting me as a defensive back, but they said that I could get some reps at receiver, too,” Arrington said. “If coach Rhule sees me play receiver, he could put me on the field on offense, too.
“A lot of people think that I want to play offense, but I really like defense. Nebraska sees me playing cornerback right now. More of a boundary cornerback.”
S Semaj Stanford
Talented sophomore safety
Semaj Stanford from Jenks (Okla.) was one of a handful of sophomores in Lincoln for a junior day at the end of July. Stanford picked up an offer from Nebraska following Jamar Mozee’s departure from UCF to become a senior football assistant at Nebraska.
“The visit was amazing,” Stanford said. “The facilities were amazing, and more important, the coaches were amazing. They made me feel like I was at home. All the coaches knew me so it felt like I mattered and they took time to recruit me.”
Stanford confirmed that he will also be in Lincoln on Saturday, September 7, when Nebraska plays Colorado. Stanford is a teammate of junior four-star running back
Kaydin Jones. Jones is also scheduled to visit Nebraska that weekend.
