I'm getting the same creeping feeling. Rhule has plenty of time to make changes and turn things around. What scared me is whether he chooses his assistant coaches over the players or not.

Anyone can see that Satt is in way over his head and some positions like WR have some glaring problems. Does Rhule keep flying towards the mountain or does he listen to the alarm and pull up?

We will see. I can only say that I hope Rhule was lying through his teeth on pretty much every point in the PC. The thought of going point by point is just too exhausting. But if he really thinks that his players didn't pack it in as soon as adversity hit then he's completely blind.

Not to make this too deep and this isn't a shot at you by any means, more of just pointing out decades of coach speak that we constantly hear after games.......how the fuck do we go about "it has to get better"? I mean damn, constant groups of staffs saying that shit over the last 2 decades. Again, this isn't at you, I just respect your responses to legitimate things given your experience.


I woke up Sunday and took the dogs for a walk so had a while to think, and man I just do not give a flying hoot about any coach speak Rhule lets out there or any cliches the players give. We just got routed by Indianus who is filled with FCS players. The hell are we if we're getting our manhood taken by FCS players?

I'm right there with you - it is coach speak, especially in pressers.

But it is also true - players aren't executing nearly well enough. They have to get better or get out. As far as our WR's improving perimeter blocking (as an obvious example), it hasn't gotten any better. At this point, the WR's we are playing are what they are. But to hope for incremental improvement (even a little), is OK IMO.

As far as the OC and DC and overall coaching - mid season is an unrealistic time to expect much to change. This is what happens when Rhule doesn't even use all of his 7 mil for his assistants, and doesn't go out and get better and more experienced assistants on the whole.

I'm with you, this years Illinois game felt like Frost's 2019 Colorado game. You knew then it probably wasn't going to work out but still hoped he would turn it around.

Hopefully I'm wrong but if he couldn't get the team up for the Illinois game I don't know what to tell you and then saying that he didn't see it coming with this last game was concerning. I think Ray Charles could have seen what was coming if he had been paying attention to the previous games this season. Rhule had two weeks to get ready for Indianus and came out and fell completely on his face.

Agreed, Rhule is cooked. He’s in way over his head and Nebraska is nothing like Temple or Baylor. The NFL ruined him and he hired a little league staff. Another retread coach that Nebraska is stuck footing the bill for. Rinse and repeat.
