When my wife started shooting out kids at a rapid rate. 1 kid per 2 years to get to 4. She wanted to stay home with them. I was okay with it but losing an income wouldn’t cut it. So she decided to start up an in home daycare. Took care of both problems. Definitely wasn’t ideal at times. But it worked. Tax time sucked though doing her taxes. But whatever. It worked out. And didn’t have to live solely off my teaching salary.

Now she’s the supervisor of a childcare facility and still around our kids that aren’t in school full time. All the time.

Nope, my wife’s a workaholic, works in Crisis Communications in a demanding industry and gets a high off of the intensity of her job.

Really varies person to person. My wife has stayed home for stretches and worked in others. Some people are great stay at home parents and others really aren't.
This is what I was going to say. My wife always loved the idea of being a stay at home mom and did it for 5 or 6 years. If it would have gone any longer she would have gone insane.

I've known stay at home moms who are busier doing kid and house shit than people who work and I've known ones who fuck around on their phones all day and leave the house a wreck. Obviously the stay at home mom route makes way less sense in the latter situation

And I’ve known the ones who like to get stray. It’s all about priorities.

Where the heck did your wife find this dream job? My wife is also in healthcare and is severely overworked. Yes, the pay is good, but she's often working 60+ hours a week, including weekly overnights, doubles, and weekends. She would disagree with your "healthcare is a racket" statement.

Also, her healthcare is mediocre. Definitely no 50% discounts.

And I don't mean this to be defensive. I'm legitimately interested where/how she found this job.
