Adrian explains why he left

I remember the post game presser in which scott let that slip. A presser in which scott was defending and standing up for Adrian. And Adrian is salty about it? Kid is a pussy.
The announcers talked about it during the game, which led to Frost having to address it, which led to Martinez having to address it. I think he was just annoyed by the chain of events, not at Frost specifically.

Just skipping around the podcast a little bit, here's where he sounded pretty surprised and uncomfortable with how his broken jaw injury was revealed by the broadcast team during the OSU game:

"One of our media guys came up to me and was like 'hey just so you know, Coach Frost just addressed your broken jaw and it’s out officially now' and I was a little shocked you know, obviously we had just lost the game and that was something I wasn’t prepared to talk about or had any knowledge would be revealed, so it was definitely a surprise to me, and I found out just then and seconds later I was up on the podium… It didn’t necessarily feel right to me. I didn’t think it was appropriate to be talked about at that time, given the result of the game and the time frame. It was something that was very personal and private to me, and I wanted to be the person to tell it. My grandparents didn’t even know, my grandma’s texting me like ‘Hey you have a broken jaw??’ and it’s like ‘Yeahhh, sorry you had to find out over a fucking broadcast on Fox, or a press conference postgame…' I wanted to be able to tell that myself.”

He also mentions how he and Jurgens were both super close with their position coaches and obviously took their firings hard, but also understood it's part of the business when you don't win enough games:

"I know for me personally it was really hard because I felt responsible for Verdu being let go, and I'm sure other guys had that same sentiment... I did make sure once the season was over to reach out to Verdu and we were able to talk and catch up and he's someone who will be in my life forever. He's had a tremendous impact on me and that's a relationship that doesn't just go away just because he's no longer my quarterback coach."

Firings leading to thoughts of transferring:

"Without a doubt, at that point in time in all honesty that was my mindset. I was like hey I want to see what's out there as far as my NFL prospect, and maybe see if playing somewhere else would be a good option for me to try to get to the NFL because that's my ultimate goal. That is my priority, and I want to win some football games, and I think those things go hand in hand."

Conversation with Coach Frost:

"He wanted me to stay, as well as some other guys that decided to leave, some of those guys who decided to go to the NFL draft, and I think that's what a good coach does. He wants guys like, me I've been in the program for four years and really understand how it works, how the Big Ten works and our offense, obviously a captain on the team, and we have a deep relationship that goes awhile and he wanted me to stay. But some of the things I've told you are what I told him, and just like the news he broke to the team about firing the coaches - I think he understood it, I don't think he necessarily liked it. But he's a guy who will always love me and will always be there for me, and I'll definitely be the same for him.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for what he does, it's a lot. Being Nebraska's head coach is a demanding job, and no one will understand the things he goes through except him. And I understand that- to an extent- being a quarterback at Nebraska and some of the things I went through. I think it's a very unique experience and I really do respect him for what he's done there and what I believe he will do moving forward. But for me, it was really hard for me, there's a lot of loyalty and responsibility I feel for Nebraska and that's what was really holding me down to the place, but I felt like the best decision for me was to go somewhere else and ultimately I think he was able to respect that."

Think this kinda just underscores how the coaches had zero goddamn clue about what they were doing and what they needed to do to right the ship. Fucking circus.

i thought he broke his jaw in the OU game?

This hit during MSU.

This is a little comical because by a lot of accounts Skylar Thompson's skill set was underutilized at K State in the eyes of NFL scouts.

Adrian leaving is best for him and Nebraska. I wish him nothing but the best as by all accounts, he's a tough player and was a great teammate that endured through the most chaotic times in Nebraska football.

Just like other recent transfers - JD, Wandale, Vedral, etc, the weird message board stalker fans will chide him if he's anything short of a Heisman winner next season.

• VERY salty that Frost/ Gus Johnson spilled the beans on his broken jaw after the Ohio State game. He wanted the ability to tell that story himself. A lot of his family members didn't even know. Said he didn't think it was appropriate.

That's his own fault. The injury happened Sept 25th. It was on this board and NCIU by Sept 30th, I knew it at the Sept 29th practice. It was mentioned on the radio talking about it Oct 4th.

He's upset it came out on air 4 weeks afterwards?

Gus Johnson spilled it first. Now it was all over the internet before then, but Johnson was the first media source to say anything, he mentioned it during the Ohio State broadcast.

I agree there's no reason to think that was going to stay under wraps for the entire season, but I assume Gus Johnson gets the intel he uses on air from speaking with the staff, which means somebody official must have let it slip. I can see why Martinez would be pissed about that.

That makes more sense

The comments about Purdue and other little bits.
I'll have to listen to it again I guess, I was working but trying to pay attention. Not the sense I got at all, but maybe I'm missing some pieces from memory.

No offense to the OP but at this point,

Time to look forward not back.

I don’t 100% buy getting pissed about not being the first to disclose an injury to ur grandparents. Why not tell em sooner, why wait 4 weeks & why does that even matter, it’s a broken bone, not something like cancer or any other life-altering illness. Maybe the NFL prospects/history of injuries is the real factor & they were hoping to sweep that all under the rug.

Thought this quote was interesting….

“Being Nebraska’s head coach is a demanding job, and no one will understand the things Frost goes through other than him”

This “Woe is Me” attitude is exactly what’s wrong with the program. The guy makes 5 million a year to be head coach at Nebraska. My God, sounds awful! I can only imagine how shitty it is to be a quarterback here too, wah wah!

Exactly. HC @ NU is a cakewalk compared to most Blueblood jobs. Infinitely easier than any $EC job. The local media has been swinging from Frosts sack his entire time here, he's got it easy as fuck.
