5* WR Demond Demas CB to

Living in Bedstuy Brooklyn, which has the largest per capita black population in the United States, I can confirm you would not be looked upon kindly if you were to use the term "brotha's."

It's all about context. I use the term "brother" all the time, including when speaking to black people in my neighborhood. But if you were to refer to a group of black dudes as "brothas," they would consider it condescending because of the appropriation of their slang. I'm not speaking for everyone, but this is generally true.

My brother lived in Bed Stuy when he lived in NY. Stayed with him there both times I visited.

I did not call anyone a "brotha" while I was there, in case you were wondering.

hahaha Oh! My bad.

Dude, my wife and I love our neighborhood. Nice, sleepy street full of lovely people. I walk to get coffee almost every morning and am greeted with "Good morning!" by almost everyone I pass. We also found a 2,000 sq ft, pre-war brownstone we're renting for a fraction of what it would cost elsewhere in the city.

I like the offer. Kid's crazy athletic. No problem with Rhule giving him a second chance. Needed some upperclassmen in the WR room next year as we have hardly any. IGC would be the only Sr if he comes back, then Bullock and Hahn as Jrs, all the rest are underclassmen next year. Kemp, Washington and Fleeks will be out of eligibility. Frost really left the WR room with nothing.

But, the story would have been a lot cooler if you did...what this thread could've been...disappointing

I believe Damon Benning sat and watched an ex girlfriend key his car and didnt do a thing. I believe all accusations were retracted. I also believe that mentioning someone who is well respected and still in the area with a kid being recruited in the same breath as beating a girlfriend is something you shouldn't take so lightly. Perhaps you should look that up before you type it.
2 sides to every story but also innocent until proven guilty. I have nothing against Damon, like him seems like a good dude. Appreciate the insight he brings on the radio and various Husker Boards. But shit happens and I'm not taking it lightly. I wasn't there so no idea what happened but it was covered by the press and TO had to address it. And how do we know something wonky didn't happen with Demas too? I was just saying that some grown ass men who play one of the most violent sports occasionally get in trouble. I played with players who were on some of Osborne's teams so heard plenty of stories about stuff being covered up, swept under the rug or paid off. It goes on at every university.

The only thing I care about with Demas is if he comes here he stays out of trouble and he balls out. Even if he doesn’t ball out but doesn’t get in trouble I can handle that.

This is a Texas kid who I whole-heartedly believe Rhule has done his homework on from every angle and will have strict rules when he gets here.
