Agree @Seaofred92 on pretty much all of it and yeah…two days in, it seems we don’t really have anything to base success or lack thereof yet.

You gotta admit, his coaching hire doesn’t look to bad now compared to what we’ve had.
Which is pretty sad. Point was we had money back then but went the cheap route vs proven winner or close to it that would’ve brought infrastructure etc. Bo did well with the Callahan recruits and then it fell apart.
go back in time & I wouldn’t hire Bo. There’s a reason Youngstown state was the only one who wanted him & calling in a favor at LSU to get back into the P5 which was a disaster. Now he claims to not be coaching cuz of his stance against NIL & the state of cfb lmao
Is there really enough data to judge? I haven't cared enough to follow closely.
He couldn’t recruit against legitimate coaches. He avoided every prospect that was being recruited by successful programs & went after the ones with schools he had a leg up on.
It was a great way to ruin any depth we had on the roster & why Mike Riley had Freshmen tackles & walk on DEs starting
Will judge this portal class when the portal closes, but it doesn't look good.
Two days into the portal we have a top ten portal QB and the #6 LB in the portal per On3. We have had ten guys visit most of whom just finished today, so we don't know how things went as yet on all those visits. But, for almost all those guys, we got the first visit.
The recruiting staffer was signaling in the afternoon and seemed to be suggesting we already have four guys.

With the reports Nebraska was heavy in the tampering, bringing a DC in who could’ve brought more top players with him and allegedly having money to spend I think the expectations were a little bit higher than they should’ve been.
Minchey and Chambliss are great adds. Most of the other visitors seemed pretty 'meh'. Yes, I get that some of them are being looked at as depth pieces.
We've got so many holes to fill and it just doesn't seem like we're going to get what we need to be a winning team next year. Still some time, but I think it's safe to say that we're not where we needed to be. A couple nice surprises could change the outlook though.

I get people are pissed and I'm not happy with the state of things either, but this thread is depressing.
Will Rhule succeed with this reset? It's not looking promising, but I hope he gets it right, because I want to see this program succeed again sooner rather than later.

I’m not a member of other boards but this one doesn’t seem bad, seems like a normal split of people who think things are going well and fans who don’t. Suppose you could start a sunshine and rainbows board?
