  1. Seaofred92 Seaofred92
Dowdell has 51 career receiving yards
CharMar has 184 career receiving yards
Mozee has 155 career receiving yards
Nelson has 102 career receiving yards

They all avg 4-5 ypc.

I guess I’ll take the guys that fit what Holgs likes his RBs to do. Run and catch.
Not hating on Nelson or Mozee just would like some more production in the room. The list you posted would be a pretty good RB room and you could use Mozee at WR too DuckR.

Nothing against that dude but I was hoping for something bigger.

Why the fuck are we still talking about DuckR

You need an rb(s) that can ran and catch.
The second you sub teams are going to predict what you are doing. This isn’t the 2010s or an outdated frost offense.

I don’t understand the CharMar hype

119 carries, 469 yards(3.9 YPC!), 7 td
19 catches, 127 yards, 2 tds

Nice to see him get involved in the pass game some. He’s been an effective short yardage back at times. But he’s also not putting up amazing numbers either.

He doesn’t really fit the mold of what Holgs has ever had at rb.
Have you watched him play? Watch him. I think you'd see there's a ton of potential there.

With RBs, I think often times they need to get into a groove to show what they're capable of. That's why I hate rotating RBs so often (even though you do need a reliable second guy). Maybe that's just a hot take from me, I don't know.

CharMar is behind a really good back in Fletcher so I would think that has affected his numbers some this year.

the rumor about NU making "market leading" offers sounds a lot like the kind of rumor a coaching staff might want to start in order to excuse their failures. there's no way we're offering market leading money and not even getting visits
We really have reached the manure spreading phaze.

Probably, but EJ isn’t here so it really doesn’t matter. The question is if Dowdell and CharMar are better than Mozee, Nelson, Ives, Booth and/or JRule. And I would say that an unequivocal yes and yes.
It does matter, though, as Baron’s whole point was to intimate that the criticism of Barthel is unjustified based on the idea that Dowdell just signed with Georgia and that Barthel was somehow retroactively justified in starting him over EJ because of that.

Well, I guess ok if that’s what we’re focused on here. I thought we were talking about making the right decisions now as opposed to rehashing the past. But hey, if @Baron Winnebago thinks that it doesn’t change anything for me. Plus all 3 can be true. Barthel can be a mid (or worse) RB coach, he could also be correct that DD was good RB and also wrong to start him over EJ.

Even if Barthel is/was somewhat right about DD, that in no way = he’s actually a good coach. So I didn’t really put much stock in his comment.

@Dawgsauce what's the status on Georgia's RB situation? Assuming Nate still has that spot locked down & expected to be the dude for 2026. I like Dowdell a lot as a change of pace back, but he left here to try and be the top dog somewhere & I'm a little surprised to see him take a gig where there doesn't look like he has a shot at significant PT barring injury.
Just resigned (yeah, still sounds weird typing this) NF3 and Bowens. Live practices and all, this room has to be full of depth cause injuries are incoming. That explains UGA side. Dowdell is going to be RB3 at the most. Can quickly ne 2 or even 1 though.

That was mostly me just continuing schtick to a hilarious end.

I do believe the following though
1. It's ok to criticize Barthel
2. The criticism of Barthel has outpaced all logic and reason based on how he has performed as a coach and recruiter
3. Dowdell is a solid back who fit what Rhule wanted from his offense until he hired Dana when EJ was obviously the better fit

New staff follow. Was the starting LG for Ole Miss this season.

There is no better indictment of Donovan Raiola than all those kids going into their 3rd year and none of them are ready to play: Brix, Peters, Pyle, Raumua, Knutson, Sledge
