"Battle it out" is a funny way of describing, what will inevitably be, a massive shitshow.

It kind of reminds me of Joel Klatt grasping for any piece of positivity when describing Cockeye's offense vs Michigan.

Michigan 20, Cockeye 0
*Cockeye completes downfield pass*

Klatt: Honestly, this game has gone as close to perfect as you can expect if you're Cockeye.

I get that in a perfect world Rhule would prefer a younger guy with eligibility that can be built upon for a few seasons but this feels like a misstep to me. IMO priority #1 is winning 6-8 games next year and building some sort of positive momentum towards the future. If you go into next year with Purdy/a RS freshman as QB1 and they make inexperienced mistakes that lead to losses and no bowl it would create a storm of negativity going into year 3.

Yeah if Rhule botches this and has another losing season … we’ll we have seen this story before

We had three guys battling it out this year, and it wasn't very pleasing to the eye.
First day of spring practice 2024 and the first "battle".

*new guy holds on to the ball while running.

*OL are confused.
*Purdy looks stunned.
*Harberg looks for the TE coach.
*Sims reads about it online after practice at Northern Georgia A&M.

Everyone: Welp, we've seen enough. Battle over.

We offered before from IWCC, had a quick 40 time at one of Frosts camps IIRC.

Blocked a punt. Didn't really contribute otherwise.

Would be a nice backup but that's what he was this year, so he'll probably go the G5 route

Sounds about right, I just remember him because he ran a 4.61 40 at one of our camps which would have broken the NFL combine record 4.67 for DTs.
