Outdoors thread

It patterns great up to 35 yards then the lack of pellets in a .410 starts catching up to shots on target and there are uneven spreads and gaps

Anything further than that the only load I've found that holds really good is Remington Express Long Range. I can get a legit pattern still with enough terminal velocity at 50 yards with #6 shot
I’m usually in heavily treed areas, so that sounds great!

same here now that we live in the Ozarks

this firearm season I'm using my Dad's old 30-30 with buckhorn sights that were zeroed in by my Dad banging on them with the bottom of his leatherman... so thank God my average range shot is gonna 25-to-100 yards with this Redneck Precision rifle (complete with hillbilly chassis = rust flecked blued steel and wood that's been stained by years of WD-40 abuse)

PS: I will only be able to go out 3 days so I fully expect to get shut out and/or only get a doe... but I'm gonna feel like an alpha if I do it with the old man's gun

Missorui

Crime so bad here the Attorney Generals office compensates me amazing to work on average 2 days a week across the State.

My parents bought a lake house and retired here in 2020 (dad also bought the 6 acres surrounding them becuz the best neighbor is yourself)

I got offered a job to be a hired gun by the new AG Bailey to combat rural crime in MO and it was too good to pass up so my wife and I bought 44 acres here (4 acres on the Lake, the rest is timber that I've been slowly improving the past 3 years) and moved the family to Missour'ah for me to scalp defendants for the State.

No idea that Ozarks of Missouri was that bad. I visit Buffalo River for a long paddle every couple years in Arkansas and love it. Never had an issue with my parked vehicle in isolated location for over a week to 10 days at a time.

Wait. You’ve abandoned McCook? How about your wife’s practice? Did she set up shop down there?

Perhaps we can get a mod to pin this thread to the top of the page. I know a lot of you guys are outdoorsy folks so I figure maybe this thread would be a good dumping ground for fish pictures, hiking pictures, etc.

Some shots I’ve taken at the 70 acre nature preserve on bluffs overlooking the pacific, two blocks from our home, where I walk the pups twice daily. Quality of photos aren’t the best as they were taken with my phone.
