We were bad parents and forgot the tooth fairy. Night 2 rolls around and he mentions he was sad tooth fairy didn't take his tooth. All I can find in the house and vehicles that night was $20s. Leaving a $20 bill was a bad standard to set that night. Now if he complains about the $5, I'm telling him tooth fairy isn't real.

We had a different Thanksgiving this year. Took my family to my MIL’s house, where we were expecting to also see my wife’s brother, step brother, and all three of his young kids for mine to play with. Instead we were the only ones who showed up, which was super disappointing for my 4 year old (step brother’s family is flaky but he loves playing with his cousins). My wife’s brother said he was sick, which I believe because my wife is also feeling like shit (which she just realized is because she has Covid after traveling to a family wedding with her brother).
My almost two year old was awake and screaming crying for almost two hours in the middle of the night and we had no idea why, but today we noticed he’s leaking fluid from one of his ears. Fortunately me and my 4 year old are feeling fine for now, considering he just had the stomach flu over the weekend. Just got him to bed and gonna go watch some football by myself.
It’s been a long couple of weeks but still thankful for everything I have, including all my e-friends, and our Holy Trinity - corn, Dylan Raiola, and Dana Holgerson. Amen.

Our fat little 17 month old waddled up to my computer where tPB was up, saw a picture of the Huskers, and did his fist-pumping 'ga-bah-rah' (go big red) yell that we taught him during Nebraska games.

My son won his first wrestling match recently. He's 5 and has been getting his butted whipped at practice and his first match and tournament so far. It was such a cool feeling having him run over after the match and give me a hug.

My sons current motto (picked it up from the Minecraft movie) is "Keep it metal, keep it heavy."
We have to do that with our handshake before his tball games now.

Took my daughter fishing this weekend for the 1st time at our neighborhood lake. She'll be 4 in August and after about 30 minutes to trying, she was able to cast out about 10-15 ft. all by herself. Didn't catch anything but seeing her cast the line by herself was a cool moment!

Well, my daughter starts her real legitimate first day of Pre-K today at a legitimate Elementary School. I know Kindergarten next year will be when the real deal hits, as Pre-K is only half days in the afternoons, but damn, she's growing up too fast. I've scrolled through my old pictures and reflected this morning while working, and just reliving those old moments. All I really hope for is that she enjoys school and applies herself way more than I ever did, the kids are good to each other, and she makes friends.

My son turns 2 in November and it blows my mind how fast it’s gone by and how much he’s grown/learned already. Not sure I’ll be ready to handle it once he gets to school age 😂
