Given the total shitshow in Lincoln and the fact that we not only hired maybe our most qualified athletic director in years but poached him from a B1G rival, where he hadn't even unpacked, I'd call this a home run
Maybe rumors of the shitshow have been greatly exaggerated?

Like is it possible that Turd went hard to the paint with the media to paint a picture of dysfunction to cover up his ladder climbing move? A narrative that took hold is that thr BoR is so fucking incompetent they couldn't even complete a standard university president search in. 10 months but that actually turns out to be about the amount of time it takes to find one, hell maybe even on the shorter side of things.

Possibly but beyond that it's a massive statement that Nebraska isn't fucking around.

Also did it the day before the NCAA tournament starts (where all university presidents, ADs, apparel sponsors, etc congregate). This could not have been handled any better.

Well done, UNL.

Agree. When the governor said extreme sense of urgency, I guess he was right. Which frankly being a politician is a bit surprising.

At first glance this is a remarkable hire.

Long tenures at every stop EXCEPT for Washington. On several major NCAA committees which would give him plenty of connections and an inside track on where athletics are heading. With how much Rhule talked about getting someone that has a vision for the futures, that's a big deal. Responsible for the top 2 gifts in athletic history at Tulane. One to start a new sport, one for facility capital improvements.

Seems like he checks all of the boxes. Didn't know him before today, but damn glad we got him.
