Inside Info Mario Veruduzco may be on the way out of town

Of all the goofy fuckers to coach at Nebraska may be the goofiest.
You could write a book on the terrible assistant coaches that Nebraska has made millionaires over the last 12 years

I know there’s a healthy level of narcissism required to coach, but its crazy they all seem slighted and mad despite being paid unbelievably well (often cases their most ever in their lifetimes) to put a shit product out. Has Mario ever in his life made the type of money he made in his 5 years at Nebraska?

Go enjoy your retirement on Nebraska’s dime and shit the fck up

And is it considered being stabbed in the back when justifiably fired?.
2020: 390ypg/23ppg
2021: 447ypg/28ppg

Covid was a weird year, but it’s basically equal to 2024 except Lubick got more yards. 2021 he scored the same points as Holgo in 2025 with an extra 70 yards/game.

Frost’s offense were awful at yards per point, but they could get yards. Lubick certainly didn’t have the responsibility of Holgerson, but let’s not pretend he was justifiably fired unless you’re willing to say Holgo should’ve been fired yesterday.

I also will die on the hill that Whipple and Frost had an unreal offense cooking in 2022. Defense let them down, but those first 3 games were 🤌🤌.

I never thought Verduzco was cool. I hated him from the beginning.

Foley I thought was pretty cool though to your point. I was wrong there.
Mario's a trip. There's a coach on another site I used to talk to who talked about running into him at a bar very early on, and Mario talked to him about his philosophies for an hour or two.

Dude said Mario was a genius level thinker with encyclopedic knowlede of everything biomechanical and could break things down physically more than anyone he'd ever seen (believe he has a PhD paper on the subject IIRC).

Obviously didn't translate into on-the-field results, but wasn't for lack of smarts.

I still don’t understand why Frost & Verduzco didn’t bring Mckenzie Milton with them. He was fresh off 13-0 and hadn’t even had the catastrophic knee injury yet

Pretty sure the NCAA was letting kids transfer without sitting a year back then if a head coach left just left, no?

You still had to to sit out a year or get a waiver for that. Noah Vedral came, and even that we had to fight or appeal and wasn't decided until part way into the 2018 season, IIRC.

Verduzco always struck me as the kind of guy who's really smart, but sucks at teaching what he knows. His approach to teaching seemed to be to just dump everything on guys at once and let them sink or swim.

He did his bullshit biomechanical presentation at a coaches clinic and that’s when I knew we were cooked.

At the time, I thought the overconfident, cocky, thought their shit didn't stink, attitude was super cool and something this program desperately needed. Looking back, that only works if you're super disciplined and had a lot of talent. We had neither.
