Any of y'all share the tradition/superstition of eating collard greens and black eyed peas on the 1st for good luck and money? Watching football and my house smells fantastic! I make the greens and peas today ahead of time, and then will cook the cornbread just before the meal tomorrow. @herbsinator do y'all do this? I've found it is hit or miss here in NC. Everyone I know will be eating that back home in Georgia.
My neighbor is from Adrian Georgia and he and his wife always invite or family over for New Years Day for collard greens, black eye peas, cornbread and way too much smoked pork.
Great tradition
PS: they are a SEC stereotype reverse... he is a 10 and his wife is fat, kind of ugly but with a hilarious personality. (Usually it's smokeshow wife and Peter griffin looking SEC husband)
