Having buddies over for the Husker game and then Ohio State tonight .. have a brisket soup in the crockpot now . Pretty low key, but thats how I like my NYE's these days ..

Gathering of college friends & their wives for dinner, post-dinner cigars, and bowl game watchin'. A smaller subset of our squad is meeting to watch the Husker game together, sans the wives. We'll probably call each other faggots and queers for a few hours to get it out of our systems before the wives blend into this evening's festivities.

Any of y'all share the tradition/superstition of eating collard greens and black eyed peas on the 1st for good luck and money? Watching football and my house smells fantastic! I make the greens and peas today ahead of time, and then will cook the cornbread just before the meal tomorrow. @herbsinator do y'all do this? I've found it is hit or miss here in NC. Everyone I know will be eating that back home in Georgia.
