I complained a lot about him at the time. If you look back though he was the most exciting player at Nebraska from a long time before him and after him. He could have used some more help and if we had more players like him the last 20 years we would have won a lot more games.

Thanks for the memories T-Magic.
He did a lot of goofy shit, but 2012 Martinez season was the best season by a QB since Crouch. Its not his fault Bo couldnt stop a jet sweep. Losses in 2012 Nebraska scored 30, 38, 31, and 31.

Got damn Bo. If he would have just gone out and hired a legit DC to bounce ideas off of and teach him how to stop the run, he'd probably still be here.

Honestly, this is the least anxious I've been about an opener in quite a few years. It's a good feeling. Super ready for it to be Thursday, but not at all concerned about the outcome. The only thing I'm really "anxious" about, is just how many TDs we'll win by will determine the urgency that this team has and just how much of a statement we want to make this season with what is possible. Start hot, get in a rhythm real early, and man Week 4 against Michigan should be heavily circled by Friday morning.

Me too.

Main reason is, UC leadership has already admitted that this is a loss for them. That's why they agreed to move their home game to the visitor's backyard. Yes, yes, I know, they're fleeing NU fans for $$$. That's true. But there's also NO WAY they'd move this home game if they thought they had a B12 champion potential team. They admitted this was a loss for them the second they gave up their home game.

That's why I have 0.00% stress about this game. If UC is saying it's a Bearcat loss, there's no reason for me to argue with them.

This has changed to a NCAA Hoops buy-game. But as in that analogy, sometimes Duke DOES lose to Prairie View A&M. So it's never 100%. But if UC gave up this game, I'm certainly not going to stress about it. Skers by 21.

I think that's some flawed logic. Cincinnati has some serious budget issues. Satterfield wanted to hire a Special Teams Coach immediately after the conclusion of the 2024 season, but the program didn't have anything available in the budget to pay a coach for the Spring. Instead, he had to wait until the Summer, and that new coach didn't go on the payroll until July 1st under the new budget.

That Athletic Department desperately needs money. They could've just as easily told Nebraska to kick rocks and play another directional school at home.

They aren't conceding the loss. I guarantee their staff and players are going out there and trying to win.

I suppose if I could put a picture on it, I'd say this needs to look like Buffalo in 2021, with more separation in the 1st half.

Of course not. And they could still win, which I said.

But this has really depressed the excitement level among UC fanbase. That and the 5 consecutive losses to end last season. I mean think about it, they had a chance to get a Nebraska team into their home stadium and shock the world to jumpstart their season (and program) and they gave that up.

Steve Sipple had a Cincinnati radio guy on his show last week and the guy said "I don't know of a single person who is going to KC for this game." When your U has to give up a home game like this (where it gives the other team a home game) it's very deflating.

Just curious on this: how would this action result in more $$ for UC? Because the opponent payout would be lower w a directional school?

My point is that if UC had a preseason top 20 team and were favorites to win the B12 (and make the CFP), I don't think they would have given up this home game. I think they'd want to knock off a 7-6 Nebraska team in their home stadium on national TV.

UC giving up the home game is just kind of reminding their fanbase that the team isn't that good this year.

I'm saying if they were really "conceding a loss" and didn't need the money, they could've traded away the Nebraska game for another home game vs. a directional school.

The other thing to consider here is Cincy has two legit NFL players in Dontay Corleone and Joe Royer. You don't concede loss when you have potential All-American type talents.

Cincy originally moved it a year ago to Indy and then to KC in December. They wouldn’t have any idea how their 2025 team nor Nebraska’s team was going to be when they officially announced the move. No way are they conceded a loss by moving it. Strictly about money for them.
