Our offense absolutely stunk & turned the ball over at will all season, the fact that we had a top 15 defense was solely Tony White's coaching.
Agree only partially. I have hope many of the improvements our defense made this season are not directly tied to TW and can continue even if we were to lose him.
Our guys are much more agile, it seems, and able to make more plays. Nash Hutmacher is the foremost example. I think this can be attributed to Corey Campbell and the S&C staff and its philosophy of making players quicker and more sudden, and not focusing on just adding size and strength like the last staff seemed to do.
Secondly, our tackling is dramatcially improved. I think much of this has to to with us going live and actually tackling in practice multiple times a week, including 1's on 1's. This is a Rhule philosophy.
Yes, White has been the goods and has a strong hand in turning the defense around. But for the reasons I mentioned above, I hope the improved agility and tackling is something we will continue to see under Rhule no matter who the DC is.
