He'd require a scholarship which is a bridge too far for me

I am the contrarian on Max Johnson.

1. he is likely to be one of the better QBs in the portal.
2. he has a lot of experience with pressure having played at LSU and Texas A&M in the SEC. 30 games played, 22 starts.
3. he has two years of eligibility left - allowing a bridge for incoming recruits to develop
4. he also doesn't seem to make a ton of mistakes. 12 INTs in 784 career attempts: 1.5%. 6 career fumbles
5. he is a good passer - career 60% completion, 47 TDs, 5850 yards. We will have a passing game again. Against Ole Miss 3 weeks ago he was 31-42 for 305 yards
6. He is not very mobile

TBH, he would surpass what I expected us to be able to get
