I love how someone else who has connections comments that maybe it is because he is a Soph and has already had 2 knee surgeries. Rhule himself said on Bussin with the Boys that he wasn't going to be seduced by the athleticism of a recruit, they need to be the right fit with work ethic also. With the way this staff has worked so far during it's infancy I'm not sure how anyone can say anything negative about them. Hard working grinders who are transparent with their message. Sure seems like they are trying to build something the right way.

Yes, it had to do with Bradey Dunlap and Parker Freidrichson since Mike Brey is retiring at Notre Dame. Dunlap has already requested out of his LOI, Parker hasn't but could be soon. Robin said he heard that even though Nebraska recruited both hard originally they won't go after either this time around.

On one hand it's too bad because they both look to be elite shooters in college, but on the other hand I get it because Fred needs to win next year and at a minimum get to the NIT. Robin didn't say this but it sounds like every other player that will be added will be through the portal.

Not gonna agree 100% with what Robin said about Friedrichsen as I have somewhat of an "In" with his recruiting thus not as afraid of Davidson from what I have been told.

***The news that Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey, who I believe is a hall-of-fame coach, plans to retire at the end of the season was significant.

It also piqued some interest around Nebraska basketball about some potential additions from the Fighting Irish roster.

If you remember, 2023 four-star guard Parker Friedrichsen chose Notre Dame over Nebraska and Davidson last fall. He also initially committed to Oklahoma State over NU a year earlier. The Huskers also recruited 2023 four-star Brady Dunlap before he picked the Irish in September.

While there may have been some brief hope of Nebraska getting back in the mix with one or both players, I wouldn’t hold your breath.

From the sound of things, if Friedrichsen does leave Notre Dame – which is no guarantee – Davidson would be the frontrunner. I just don’t see the Huskers wanting to be left at the alter for a third time.

I don’t know where Dunlap ends up. But based on the response I got after asking around about him this week, it doesn’t sound like NU is an option.

I’m perplexed on his beef with the current staff on a 2025 kid. Especially considering they have been focused on firehosing the current roster & getting a jump on 2024
He must have tried passing some notes to the new staff & they treated him like the dope he is & now he’s bent.
