I thought Gifford made a few good plays. Buford and Newsome had some nice tackles. Nelson got to the QB with a sack and some pressure. Reimer was lively (although a little too much on one play)

Outside of them I'm coming up blank. I can't really say I noticed anyone on the D-line do much. Caleb Tannor has been such a non factor I don't understand why we don't just go with a young guy to develop some experience in his place.

Can anyone say how Lutovsky did? The rest of the line was it's normal dogshit nonsense but I've written them off, I just am looking for evidence that Luto can maybe become something eventually. I don't think we would notice any difference if we would replace Benhart with a mannequin in a helmet.

The offense was just awful in a game that the defense was actually making a few plays. Couple that with Illinois not playing so well and we had a fucking chance up until Casey got dinged. I mean honestly they ran out of bounds once when they could have gotten a first down easily. They had false starts to take them out of FG range. They botched a trick play when one wasn't even needed. They even had a non contact fumble and we didn't punish them for any of it.

That's how bad we are. That is what Scott built. That if the other team has any quality at all they can seriously play a C minus game and still beat us comfortably. Thanks, Scott. I hope the beers and Golden Tee was worth it.

The defense actually didn’t play that bad as a whole.
I kind of felt that way but the Illinois stat lines talked me out of it. DeVito was 20 for 22 passing and Brown had 149 yards rushing with 2 total TDs. I mean we didn't really stop them they just made some dumb mistakes and then played super conservative because they could afford to just punt and wait for us to fuck up.

Thru a quarter & a half we were up 9-6, had 221 yards of offense & were a dropped swing pass from going up 16-6 & pressing 300 yards of offense in the 1st half
After Casey’s injury
The offense was abysmal
Whips refusal to run is a huge problem
But his passing concepts early were all working
Guys were open everywhere
With just an average line, Casey would have had a monster year

Defense was ass. Just not as much ass as our putrid offense. Reimer, Giff, and Nelson were okay. Maybe Mathis too. Everyone else was pure ass

Chubba is the worst quarterback we’ve ever had
IMHO it is hard to gauge the play of many of these players because of the shitty situation they have been put in. Our O Line has to be one of the worst in college football so that makes it hard to properly critique the RB's & QB's. They are running for their lives. I'm hoping our next coach can fix this team in the trenches

Vokolek seemed to play well. Buschini did his thing. Palmer was open at least a few times but was missed with poor throws. Grant hit the hole well, although he left a bunch of yards on the field the way he finished runs. Piper had a solid PFF grade. Defense as a whole was reasonable, especially Reimer.

Great points but 7:20am!? That’s why we call you FLASH ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Well said! My guess is Frost thought his play calling would be good enough to cover weaknesses. Didn't have to recruit hard or practice just fuck off all week and then on game day I'll take care of it, then this year that was taken away and he pouted about having to commit

I thought Grant looked pretty average.
