Never rose above 2nd string Defensive End at the NAIA Level. Went to the semifinals of the NAIA Playoffs my junior season and faced NW Oklahoma State, a team that had 13 former D1 transfers including Patrick Crayton, who went on to the play a few seasons at WR for the Dallas Cowboys and Lynn Scott, a former High School All-American transfer from Oklahoma.

NW Oklahoma State ran the Triple Option. Having grown up in Nebraska, I felt like I knew how to defend it having faced that offense 3 dozen times in high school. But schools like West Holt, O'Neill, and Broken Bow never had 4 black dudes from Florida running the option in their backfield.

That was my last ever college football game. We lost 30-27, and after 3 years of suspecting I sucked, that game truly confirmed just how much I sucked.

I stopped playing football after middle school. In WYO HS golf was in the Fall (as was football, obviously) and I was WAY better at golf than football, so it was an easy decision.

9 years as HC, of Arkansas State Red Wolves........ in College Football 25.

Couldn’t imagine playing D2 or lower after high school. Just out there getting CTE and tearing ACL’s for the fun of it and to say you were the North West Upper Central Midwest conference runner up.

That's fair, but I was also 6'5 225 at age 18, and was probably only hit hard twice in high school. I also never really got hit that hard in college either, but I quickly realized that I was slower than everybody else.

I was right tackle every fucking year of midget football. Skipped freshman year, decided to play sophomore year thinking maybe I could be tight end or something because I was only 6'0/210lbs, maybe catch a pass. Nope, turns out I'm fucking slow, right tackle again.

Did score a Tuddy. Blocked a punt, scooped/scored it one game.

Also Lincoln High had a girl playing DL on JV one year lol didn't notice until the post game handshake. Tough fucking broad. Tried to pancake her all game and she just got low and ate up the blocks.

I'm with you. Just about went to West Point to play football but just decided I didn't want to be injured and was burnt out since I had been playing sports non-stop since I was 5. Talked with some ex-Huskers from my hometown and they were basically like you are going to get injured at some point and also how bad it sucks being on the scout team at the D-1 level. People just taking shots at you at all times. Both these dudes were multiple year starters as well. No thanks.
